PUNT ROAD END | Richmond Tigers Forum

I went to a sportsmans night the other night and one of the guest speakers was Terry Wallace.

He was answering almost every question.

I asked two,

Question One : why did he only spend one year at Richmond and reasons for leaving ?

He replied his one year at Richmond, was his worst year of his life. He said he wanted to leave, as the club was an absoulute sham and couldnt believe the ways things were run.

Question Two : If Richmond were to offer him the coaching position at Richmond would he take it ?

Terry answered at this stage no and that you never know what the future holds. He believes Danny Frawley has done a good job with the players he has. Terry also said that he'd prefer not to go to Richmond as the club has a bad history of sacking coaches and that the supporters were the worst of any club. He said the one loss and the supporters turn on the coach.

The way Wallace spoke about Hawthorn, I thought that would be the team he'd prefer to coach. Spoke very highly of the Hawks.

Terry also said that some of the players at Richmond are a big let down and play for themselves and not the team.

Terry also said that he is enjoying his media work and that it would take a lot of convincing to lure him back to coaching. If he was to coach again, it would have to be a team with a good list and good administation with good facilities.

Wallace bulked the question regarding if Sydney made him an offer to coach or not.

Wallace did comment that the reason Nathan Brown left the Bulldogs was because he wanted to play more of a role in the midfield and that Brown wasnt enjoying last year at the Bulldogs.
