PUNT ROAD END | Richmond Tigers Forum

It is nearing years end. We now have an idea of how the Tigers will end up at years end (roughly 8th - 12th with 8-11 wins and a draw) and the direction we're heading for the future.

Based on our performances, list, development, improvement, etc, what should be the future of Terry Wallace?

Personally I think Wallace deserves to see out his contract. While i see we have lots of work ahead of us there has been improvement across most area's. some more than others. i would definitely like to see more consistency week in week out in our four qtr efforts. Our list needs further refinement and youth should be the focus for our recruiting.

I feel next year will be important for where our direction lies and will make it easy on any coaching decisions. I also feel stability is important at the moment which may get the best out of our club for now and when we have to confront these decisions in future (10 years ago not many coaches wanted to take us on because of unstability).

I do think it would be unwise to offer a new contract to Wallace now. Nothing has yet been achieved. We need results and consistency next year. A new contract should only be looked at in 2009 near years end if goals are met (ie/ making the 8, more wins than 2008, etc, without getting technical).

There has been many posts and comments made regarding this issue and it seems to change every week.

What do you feel?
