here here i thought angus did very well against freo i thought he did better than simmonds . and i have to say if i had a choice between graham and sandilands i would take graham. ive never seen such a big bloke so incapable of taking a mark as sandilands.

Even Septic Bradley looked better than Sandipalms!

Agreed. As i've mentioned before, looking forward to a good year from Gus. And as his pres, I've bookmarked this post for future reference just in case:
Dont get me wrong, i hope Gus is the answer and becomes a regular member of the team. He has bulked up well and shouldn't get pushed of the ball as easy. But lets not forget the club tried to recruit Seaby and Warnock in the off season, so it would seem they have doubts weather Gus is up to the challange yet. But hey i guess thats what the nab cup is about, giving kids a go. Just would be nice to see us win something. :clap

I've figured Bradley out actually. I never rated him but reckon on those rare occassions when he plays a good game it when he is angry.

It's due to the fact his gf made him cheese and vegimite sandwiches and cut them in half, rather than made his favorite hundred and thousands/fairy bread sandwiches and cut them into quarters for him.

like i've always said, his coburg form late last year was fantastic! but no, so many of you never believed and still had the same blindfolded knocks on him from previous years.

he played maximum minutes as the lone ruckman in one match (the week Cartledge was promoted to the seniors) and Gus actually improved as the match went on. That said alot about his commitment.

his kicking and disposal in general play has improved immensely! once upon a time i could barely watch whenever he recieved the ball.

Gus is apparently one of the hardest trainers at the club and if you are that way inclined you will ultimately enjoy the fruits of your labour at some point. Just like White and Foley before him, neither super athletic or bonifide superstars when they cam to the club but both were super committed trainers.

If Gus can maintain his fitness, his time will come soon enough. Its nice to see the tables are turning.

I always thought that Gus was going to be a player. I watch Coburg throughout the year and Gus got better as the year went on. He played quite well in that final and when he played as the #1 ruckman when Cartledge wasn;t there. I hope Gus gets games this season because he has bulked up and will become a very good player for us.

Yep, I recall your informed view some time back, when all was against you on here, you came up with coherant responses to people's concerns (some were rather outlandish too). Having not seen him last year, it was your informed response that kept me keen to see him.

Well, his game against Freo didn't disappoint, albeit a long way from saying he's made it yet. But it showed promise!

Thank you BLX for being a voice of reason!

Encouraging stuff Hans given you seem to have seen a fair bit of him.
Be interesting to see how he goes this week in Simmo's absence(?).
