Terry's Payout - Half Year Only?

Surely if we gave Terry the heave-ho we only would have to pay out for half a year now. He couldn't possibly be paid on a per round basis but is paid an annual salary. With only half a year left on his contract I think we definitely could afford to pay him out.

And if anyone wants to start a collection to pay him out I am good for $100.

Not a bad suggestion but I'd rather give more money to the bushfire/flood appeal, Gary & Co. can stimulate Terry's fast exit.

Well if we took the influx of money that Cuz raked in then we'd be even! From one hand to the other.

The only way Walla$e would go is if we paid out his contract in full and thatd be close to $500,000 thanks to Miller. Cant see him just walking away for a portion of his contract.

What would firing him achieve? A new coach will do bugger all and then people would calling for his head. The other issue I see is we could conceivably be back where we were when we had no choice but to take Frawley as our coach.

Let him see out the season and hopefully hire a new and decent coach in the off season also might be time to replace our skills coaches as well.

We'd be up for $500,000 if we were required to pay out for a full year. The way I see it we have less than a full year left to pay him out, maybe about 6 months. If Wallet is on $600,000 per annum then pro rata we only have to pay out $300,000.

If we could nail down a new coach early on then he could spend half a season or more assessing the list. Let's say Campbell took over for the rest of 09, but we signed Buckley or Hardwick (for example) in June as senior coach, then he could have +/-10 rounds of just watching.

Signing Buckley as coach would then boost the coffers again.

I guess if you were looking at that type of situation.....Maybe could be also something like Sheedy as the caretaker coach with say Buckley offered the position as his understudy for the remainder of 2009, with the proviso that he gets the senior job in 2010......

If we are going to look at getting a new coach for 2010, then RFC would have to start negotiations early as numerous AFL coaches contracts expire at the end of the season.....

Just imagine how many more members would sign up if Sheedy took over as caretaker coach?

It would contribute significantly to paying Wallace out.

Who would want to coach a team that did that though?
