I think it is right that we all thank Terry for his efforts at Richmond since 2005.

For many reasons it hasn't worked out with some of these reasons the fault of Terry but many not.

But all that aside, I truely believe he wanted success at Richmond and did what he thought was right and for that he deserves our thanks and best wishes for the future.

And his exit was handled with about as much grace as I have seen from a departing coach.

Thanks for the memories Plough ;)

I must admit I alternate between thinking on the one hand, 5 years should be enough for a decent coach to get things happening and on the other, thinking all the Wallace bagging in the world can't mask the fact that the list he has had to work with has not been great....I know he had a hand in recruiting and developing some of them since 2005 but there was a long period before he arrived when things were not great.....so lack of resources before he came has as much to do with our current situation as his coaching. The hollowing out of the player age profile where we had hardly any players in the 23 - 28 age group hurt us and continues to do so....No new coach is going to be able to fix that straight away either.....So...in the end, he failed, but i think there were a lot of mitigating circumstances.....you can't pin it all on the coach.

The only thing I can think that we should thank him for is that he is finally leaving. Hopefully he'll go to one of our rivals in some capacity (if any are stupid enough to have him) and rot them from within. A terrible coach and a very graceless self-centred, self-servicing departure speech. Thank him for what he has done to this club, you've got to be kidding! :rofl
