Yet who knows what players like Tivendale could have been with strong coaching and development support.

maybe they would have helped him get a right boot after 10 years?

never been a Tivendale fan but atleast he did play up to his talent which is all you can do and this year he has earnt respect the way he has played at Coburg unlike others

looking forward to the Tivendale Vs White/Yze Cup

Diito to all posts.
GT, you can walk away from the AFL knowing you played 188 games of footy at the highest level. Not many can claim that on their CV's. You are a loyal Tigers man and played for the love of the gurnsey and club, which was evident even when playing in the VFL. Be proud as I know all Richmond supporters are. :clap :clap :clap :clap :clap

Good luck for your future.

Cheers

All the best Greg.....Don't forget to take out the 2000 knives on the way out! 8)

Well done & all the best in your future endeavours! :clap :clap

Yek feisty, have been checking up on this as a former Tivva fan and amazed how the reviled has become righteous now he is leaving.
In two years time and with a right foot option Tivva would have been a handy player on our list with his long range kicking.

The good wishes are mainly due to the way he's conducted himself this year, which is fair enough.

Best of luck for the future to Tivva. Despite the fact that he has been so maligned by many, I don't care what anyone says, you don't play 180+ games at this level without offering something.

Hope he wins the Liston.

What odds, Tivendale, 1st goal in his last senior RFC game ?
Given the VFL class opposition, he might kick 4 goals and collect 30 posessions.

Well done Greg.

I also have been a "Tivendale Basher" for a majority of your career, but in all honesty to get to 188 games from the rookie list is a magical effort.

Like some have said, your response when sent back to Coburg will always make me think extremely high of you, and because of your example, morals have been set. Well done.

I have great respect for you.

Congratulations Tivvers.

*Again thanks for kicking the first goal on that Easter Monday game against St.Kilda, the $1700 I received for that was special :clap :hihi

I know everyone has been hanging on tenterhooks waiting to find out where Tiv is playing next season........
...... he's signed with with Rythdale Officer Cardinia for 2009!

Boy what a lucky man I am. Who else can say they were the PROUD President of Sir Greg in his last season? A great honour. Incidentally, who are the other Tivvers Presidentes out there today?

Tivvers was a great clubman. He forged a career spanning almost 200 games off the rookie list, and when he was sent back to Coburg last season he handled it like a real champ. He never took his spot for granted, even though Richmond gave him every reason to. Like I've always said, you might knock the guy for his talent, but you can't knock him for his character.

I guess after Maxfield I had a soft spot for stabbing, beautiful left foot kicks like Tivvers. A great left boot it was too.

I see he's returned to the club he played with as a junior. Is that right? If so it would seem to typify the man - giving back to his local club. Good on ya Tivvers! All future success to you. :clap :gotigers :hula :wavey :boldyellow

There is a Tivendale Road in Officer. Family history down there perhaps?

There's one at Berrimah near Darwin also. I got nabbed there a few weeks ago by a *smile* police officer for not coming to a complete stop at a stop sign. In true Tivendale style - yes, I was turning left!
