Sick of the manic depressives bagging everything. If we try really hard I wonder how many positive and inspiring things happened today. Come on darkies prove you can say something nice. ;D

1-The way Jay presented himself

2-Cam's impressive debut

3- Great effort by Matty White to blind turn and handball at approx CHB at the PRE and the ball went straight down for Tambo (actually I need to watch the replay it could have been Krak) goaled at the city end. There was also a great tackle as he came on from the interchange.

4-Tambo stepping up a notch

5-We outscored the Dogs by 4 points in the last 3 quarters (according to Terry's press conference)

One of the youngest sides we have fielded since the Sydney debarcle. We could have gotten pantsed but we didn't - in fact we had a sniff but didn't have the class on the day to really make it happen.

no need to be a darksider when the team plays like that.

Its the negative, boring football which we were continually persisting with that had me turning.

oh yeah and also because some hacks are still getting games. ( Krak)

But the positives were greater today.

Howat- cool and calm.

Raines - Superstar

Polo and Foley - improving and endeavour puts seniors to shame.

Bling - Showing signs, Please though don't learn your endevour off Krakour.

Lids - was BOG early before niiggles.

Another positive we showed we can play the free flowing footy. when skills are up. Which in turns brings problems as we don't maintain it.

Anyway GO TIGES!!!!!!

J Bowden - defensive effort on johnson

Raines - Simply fantastic. The brightest of lights.

Tambling - Gaining confidence & showing real signs of improvement. Going to be a tremendous player.

Schulz - 1%s were fantastic up forward. 8 tackles and worked his butt off in attack. Converts opportunities.

Howat - Very encouraging first game. Hits targets.

Polo - Just looks like he belongs. Another fine job.

Petiffer - Best game for a few weeks.

White - Backs himself and will make the grade.

Patto - Held his own. Will make it also.

The kids are the highlights, they are flourishing under TW.

If the team can consistantly play like that then we as supporters can hold our head up high but when you get flogged as often as they have, I find it hard to get excited about todays performance.

Lets see what next sat night brings.

Was nowhere to be seen for 3qtrs and got some cheap kicks in the last. Looks slow all of a sudden. Ordinary today i thought.

Kids were SENSATIONAL when you consider how much experience the dogs had in today.

A few things to come out of today that struck me.

1. we looked a bit hessitant when we started off and thought we were going to play the possession game again.
2. Looked much better when we started to use the run and carry game plan;
3. It was the young kids that really stood up and got us back into the game when it was on;
4. Patto is not as slow as I thought. His lumbering style makes him look slower than he is. He was up against a couple of players today who are quick and he was not let standing;
5. Where has Howat been. Cool and collected and very good disposal. Hit nearly all his targets.
6. The injury gods really do hate us. :(

Yeah perhaps that's right, but his last few weeks have been pretty poor.
Kept working hard I thought but probably not in our best.

He has tapered off after a great first half of the year.

Patto -   It is enjoyable to watch Patto slowly but surely improv more and more each game.  He is playing like he is starting to believe he belongs and is gaining more confidence with each game.

Raines - Damn this guy is good, and is great to watch.  Took players on, and won most times.  One time shrugging 3 tacklers to burst through the middle.

J Bowden - Did a good job on Brad Johnson whilst being classy with the ball himself.  Used his poise to evade tacklers with ease whilst using the ball pretty well.  One of Richmond's best today.

Howat - Good debut.  Very impressive.  Used the ball well.

Schulz - Continues to prove he is a good set shot at goal.  Unfortunately this was Richmond's weakness today as most of his teammates missed their set shots.

Tambling - Displayed a more attacking game.  Very exciting.

Foley - A Workhorse who is not afraid to get the pill.

Polo - Has been a great find this year.

Overall it was great to see the more attacking Richmond style of game.  Bad kicking cost Richmond dearly.  However the young Richmond side accounted pretty well from themselves and will only improve with time.   It is also good to see the young team continue to bounce back from poor performances.

Some of our young blokes, like Polo, can actually dispose the ball accurately.

God this boy got caned by darksiders when he arrived, now look at em all clammoring for attention. Whats Eckerman up to these days craig?  ;D

anywayz a great game by alot of our young players today, BIGUPS! ahem ... as for the seniors cough cough  :hihi

At least we looked as though we were trying to win,unlike the Melb & Sydney games,in particular,where we were negative & seemed focussed on minimising damage rather than trying to score.

Not happy to lose but at least we gave ourselves a chance.This type of approach needs to be our plan A.Youth seemed the more comfortable,adept in trying to put theory into practice.

and he has never been the same since.

The positive for me is the kids are playing good footy. I have seen more in these kids in the past 2 seasons as far as ability & passion, than I have seen in the past 20 years or more with most of the other jokers they call players.
