I don’t know why I’m surprised to see that our skipper has won this award for the 3rd time in the past 4 years. Perhaps it was the form of Martin and Ellis this season, but I guess these performances are all relative and Cotchin had another sterling year, playing all 22 matches and leading this award for much of the season, including when it counted most. I am not sure how others feel, but I still think Cotchin has more to show, we have had glimpses of his best throughout his career, but I’d love to see him become that consistent, Brownlow winning player, that I think he has the potential to be. That may sound harsh, but it just reflects the esteem I hold Trent in. He is so damaging when he is playing at his best and to see his numbers improve with the injection of Miles into the midfield was a thing of beauty. To add to this I think that he is improving as captain and his influence in this capacity on the ground is starting to show. His maturity can often make you forget that he is still a young captain (he only turned 24 during this season), but it is great to see him starting to take ownership of the role. Congratulations to Trent on winning the double, the JDM and the (more?) prestigious PREmier Fighting Tiger award for 2014!

A few hits this year with Cotchin, Martin and Riewoldt all finishing in their same respective positions in the two awards this year. However, both Chaplin and Morris were rated much higher by the club than they finished on PRE.

Well that wraps up the PREmier Fighting Tiger Awards thread for 2014. Many thanks to the 118 PRE members that contributed to the polls this year.

Congratulations to our skipper, Trent Cotchin, on a well-deserved 3rd win in 2014!

Again, I apologise for taking some time putting these awards together. Work and family commitments leave me with precious little time to spend on my other passion. I hope you all enjoy them and I thank you for participating.

I’d like to thank those that contributed match reports this year and the many PMs to offer assistance. A special mention to Rosy for drumming up support. I think the variety provided in the match reports from all of the different reporters makes fascinating reading.

As always, feedback, comments and suggestions are appreciated.

It was nice to the see the Tigers play in back to back finals campaigns. It was an amazing experience to march to the Adelaide Oval with the Tiger Army. It is now time for us to show up in September and win a final (if not more!). The amazing second half of the season has given us momentum heading into 2015. I can’t wait until next March to watch it unfold!

Carn’ the Tiges!

Absolutely brilliant stuff again PT. The highlight of the PRE year.

The Griffin was robbed !

I was amused to see Hampster polled better than Plasma. Never expected that.

Cheers Baloo.

These awards are always good for a few surprises. The ballots don't forget the good performances.
