I know one swallow doesn't make a summer ... but that simply has to be the level of intensity displayed EVERY week. Our skills won't always be that good - teams will put us under a lot more pressure than the Shockers did, yet the preparedness to run to space, block, shephard, tackle etc has been set. It is only 2 hours a week boys for 25 weeks of the year.

With that summary, book ur finals tickets... :hihi

Ur right if they play with that same intensity and the skills are there abouts they'll win more than they lose but thats the million dollar question can they keep up that level of intensity, hardness and skill....hope so...But lets savour this win and look forward to next sunday against the doggies....

That's all I want to see - the players having a red hot go, building on confidence will do wonders. :cupgold

Some players that were missing will need to have a long hard look at themselves before they get back into the team I hope! :-X

Correct me if im wrong but I think we layed 24 tackles for the whole game. First to the ball or no pressure?

First to the ball - pressure was good all game. Dockers played hot potato all day - seemed scared of being touched let alone tackled!

I wouldn't have thought that Subiaco would be a "high tackling" ground given its expanses but whnwe had to tackle, I thought we were pretty good. Still, wouldn't call it a Richmond specialty.

definitely first to the ball!!

we had 151 more possessions, im not sure if it is, but thats the biggest difference i have ever seen!

It's an amazing statistic. Every other team on the weekend had at least 38 tackles and a few games 50+ tackles each. We have averaged 36.2 tackles a game. Fremantle is next lowest with 41.8. Hawthorn, Sydney, Geelong are 2nd,3rd,4th with over 50 tackles a game and they happen to be in the Top 4.

It's definitely a weakness we still have and needs to be addressed to become a real contender in the future. To me pressure is 50% of football.

we definately used the wide open spaces of subiaco to our advantage, our run and carry was great, and hitting targets leading up from down field was exemplary.

but a 50m arc is just that, so it stands to reason, that we must try and maintain and improve upon our forward structure, build upon our backline/midfield transitional plays,

and do it on grounds like the dome against teams like the doggies, if we are to progress. And yes that does mean we have to generate more defensive pressure all over the ground,

but as well as improving our tackle 'count' it means tackling with intent, and confidently backing each other up, and I believe a great deal of confidence was generated amongst the players

from that win. Shane edwards' poise and creativity in close is magic, truly inspirational

interesting stat was Edwards made 4 tackles, 3 effective. That's a high efficiency rate compared to many other Tiger tacklers. Deledio for example 4 tackles only 1 effective, Johnson 5, only 2 effective.
