The car parks are sure to be full and even if you get into them it will be a nightmare to get out of them.

Anyone got any nice ways of getting there and out with the most ease?

Know of any choice car parks near the ground?

screw the mcg... i usually park on the corner of spring and flinders st in one of those "wilsons car parks".. costs about $8.. fairly close to walk.. or if ya lazy u can catch a tram! getting out of there isnt usually a problem.. waiting for a lift kinda is tho..

ill be drinking my way there so tram all the way is best for me!!!

The Peter Mac. or Freemason Hospital Carparks, or any of the parking bays around the Fitzory Gardens, get there early around 10am in the morning.

I usually park at Clifton Hill and then catch a train. Most of them are express at least most of the stops to the G.

Get back on the train, and back to your car within 20 minutes. You'd normally spend that long in the car park anyway.

Im staying on Powlett Street so am a 4 minute walk, but how long will I need to be at teh game before it starts with all the lineups etc associated with a 90,000 plus crowd?

We usually park in the car park next to Olympic park.
you better get there real early then mate, there are other events on at rod laver arena,a jehovas witness thing is one of them.
this is what the afl have to say about it.
All patrons are urged to consider public transport, due to other events in the Yarra Park precinct on Sunday
everyone should leave a lot earlier than a usual game anyway.
no matter if you`re driving or catching public transport.

Can't go wrong with public transport. Trams along Flinders St dump you 5 mins walk from the G, similarly with trains at Jolimont and Richmond. Dump your car in the city at one of the 15 billion car parks and go from there.

I normally catch a tram to Collins St, then walk across the gardens to the G...get better radio reception when I'm not on public transport.

Usually best way is to park by the yarra south of the swan st bridge , easy 10 min walk to the ground...

train fare is cheap today for those living in the outer burbs $2.50 i think

Leaving the bush shortly, with seats reserved won't have to worry if takes a while to find a park. May even have time for a bite and a drink before heading over the bridge to the G. See ya all there.

Maybe a very nice person could drop you off right at the front ;). Thats what mums doing. ;D
