The big man...Richo

Tivva yesterday...flat track bully. For a guy that has played 150+ league games, I should think that he would get the pill 30 times at that level. How about tackles? Contested possession? Tivva looks fantastic when he has the ball...he just doesn't get it enough in the ones, and his opponent often hurts us.

Did you hear Pettifer being interviewed in the rooms? He was asked about what TW had told him to improve when he got dropped and he said the defensive side of his game. I think Wallace has made a statement, (both in the media and too these players) that only guys who chase and tackle and harrass all over the ground (and especially in the F50 for these 2 blokes) will get a senior game, so both of these guys are under the microscope for improvement in this area.

Hard to tackle when you've already got the ball.

Yes, it was a very good article re Richo and his Dream Team teammates.
What really gets me though is the two letters in the "Write to Mike" segment a couple of pages further on. I would say that one of the letter writers must absolutely dislike Richo - because of "his petulance at teammates" and "bereating whoever it was" in regard to the David Rodan incident. Well we all know that Richo paid for that particular incident with a game at Coburg (if I am correct there?). Mikes answer was "get over it, Richo has".
The second letter states that "80% of his first 10 or so disposals over the past few weeks have been clangers" I take it this person didn't watch the Saints match and the very first hit out from Simmonds, to Richo and then the kick to Morton = just unlucky the mark wasn't paid to Morton.
I for one have forgiven Richo for his past misdemeanors and the way he is playing now is something that excites all of us.

this really sums up the double standards that bizaarely apply to Richo. Some goose still remembers some single, understandable expression of frustration that happened years ago, and discounts the endless superlative highlights. One of the reasons for this is that Richo is compelling to watch and most of what he does is memorable. Hundreds of anonomous good ordinary players berate teamates week in week out, its forgotten straight away.

Sheehans decade-long misinformed, anti-Richmond, irrational vendetta against Richo is part of the reason he hasn't got his dues. The bumbling average players he puts in his top 50 year after year attests to this. Players like Ben Sexton, Darren Milburn come to mind, OK players, but ask any coach who he'd take, fair dinkum. I can't stand the goose and am constantly bewildered why he has his gig.

The crap Richo has had to put up with, media dickheads like Sheehan, umps who like to follow the script of provoking a 'heart on the sleeve' reaction via a shocking decision, years of terrible delivery and no fwd line support etc, etc, etc. All things considered, I'd argue Richo is the best, bar none

i like the fact he wears his heart on his sleeves yes i at a game will call him a sooky but i still like seeing his passion sat at the legends game had been cheeky and called him a sooky la la then 3 q called out i wanted his glove should have seen him laugh , met him twice he is a nice guy .

don't worry about his passion it is a good thing even if opps supporters give it to him for it [ i alway have a smile on my face when being cheeky as i am never really serious when bagging
