The Blair "Which?" Project

Then who will play the very important second key forward role for them? Dawes won't go anywhere.

Brad Miller for their 2nd round pick :hihi

We keep Pia though.

I wouldn't trade Pia for Megan.

Neither would i. Id trade the 2nd rounder from Collingwood we are getting for Brad (minus Pia) Will throw in the compo too.

Well from what I've seen Dangerfield hasn't really progressed too much this year over 2010. I would have expected to see some major improvement but it's been pretty much more of the same, a few excellent performances mixed in with a few too many ordinary ones. Will he be a gun? Arguable at the moment. Needs to get much greater consistency into his game.

He's just been made All-Australian.

Source.

LOL at the wing and I/C bench. :hihi

How is Jake King over-rated? Who rates him? Goes alright but no one thinks he is a star. And yes Crows supporters massively over-rate Dangerfield but i stand by my comment that he is a good footballer and will be very good n the future.

Hehe at wing + IC. HB line is funny too.

As for JK it's not "overrating" as such. The criteria as specified by TWM is...

We sought to honour the AFL players whose (A) media profile and/or (B) general receipt of adulation, materially outweighed their on-field performance in 2011.

So not such a bad pick in that position. Good player but he gets more attention than warranted by his on-field performance (excluding melees of course ;D ).

;)

haha fair enough. Didn't bother reading the criteria just the team. He definately fits then. Love the comment on Hird as coach.

Re: The Blair Hartley Project

Another guy who's well on the outer who I liked the look of a couple of years ago is Gavin Urquhart. Played really well in the champs as an inside mid (made AA from memory despite playing for QLD) and looked good playing HBF for North even though his skillset doesn't really suit that role IMO. Not sure what's happened to him (1 game as the sub for 23 minutes this year, 18 VFL games for once in the bests) but he'd make a nice reclamation project at the right price.

Re: The Blair Hartley Project

Once in the bests at VFL level? From 18 games? The right price would be a rookie pick when he's delisted, if that.

Hansen's been a pretty average thus far. Keen to know why you and Spook would be so interested in getting him the selection we got for Tambling.
Hansen is one of the best marks in the league. He's apparently had shoulder problems this year, which makes it tough to take the kind of strong overhead grabs he pulls down with regularity. I just reckon we need a marking tall defender and he could be it.

Re: The Blair Hartley Project

For sure. I was thinking more along the lines of McGuane or Thursfield. Weird one though. Bit like Tmabling. Tracking really well one minute, completely off the radar the next.

Re: The Blair Hartley Project

Leysy would pass on Urquhart as well from what he's seen at North.

Dont think he has enough tricks to make it.

Been played as a HBF out of desperation at North. THink they may have stuffed him.

but i think the club believes Astbury Grimes and Rance are our next premiership key defenders.

Further to that they probably believe that Vickery Riewoldt and Griffiths are our next premiership key forwards.

And Cotch Dusty and Lids in the centreline

We need a mature ruckman for 2012, and another 17 yo ruck in development.

and more and more class midfielders.

He hasn't much of a chance though. His big asset is/was his inside ability which is almost no use off a back flank.

Re: The Blair Hartley Project

Big rumour on BF a Freo supporter has heard from 2 different sources that Dangerfield has asked to come home.Has nominated his club of choice too.
