He's p!ssed at the Dons for knifing him. Can't see him doing them favours. Especially seems he wants to steal Hurley.

And didn't he want the job at the tiges while he was there and got overlooked....

He didn't do us any favours when he was at bumbers either ... we were just leverage for more money each time his contract ran out..

Re: The Blair Hartley Project

Tyson Goldsack must have been shaking his head today watching a probably injured Ben Reid get his pants pulled down as Tom Hawkins turned the GF today. He's clearly only "insurance" at Collingwood and he must be frustrated by lack of opportunity.

I haven't watched much of him to know if he'd be much chop for us in our search for upgrades on *smile* etc but I wonder if he's on our radar at all.

He isn't the only one, Mccaffer, McCartney & Mc Donalds.
Goldsack should just walk, he has been used and abused by them for years.

You forgot Wood. He should walk to the EFL :hihi

Goldsack is not a key position player. Pass.

Agree. He's an average HBF and we already have about 3 better options and another 2 or 3 at least his equal. No thanks. Midfield, midfield and more midfield.

Re: The Blair Hartley Project

Can trade week come already? Geez this time of the year does your head in. Although I'd prefer trade week stays away if we're throwing away our early 2nd rounder on Maric

And one nuff nuff saying compo pick. Im sure they say this stuff to prod a reaction out of tiger fans :hihi

Draft Combine this week? Then trade week the week after?

I hope a few of these deals turn out true.

1. Maric for fringe player
2. Foley for mini-draft pick.
3. Connors for Lucas
4. McGuane for a late pick.

The common denominator is the players we are targeting are out of contract and players we are looking to offload are contracted.

Re: The Blair Hartley Project

The recruiting and List management team approached last year's trade period with the aim of getting a couple of players in and keeping basically the same draft picks that we had before the trade period .

I would expect the same approach this year , especially related to the early draft picks . We will trade out and trade in with the aim of improving the list and maintaining our position in the draft . If that happens I will be happy .

Compo pick will always be about pick 25-28. Hardly paying over the odds.

On Maric? It is a over the odds for out of contract. Just like Nason is massive unders. A 2nd rounder in this draft would probably be about right as much as id love to keep that pick.

Given that Sam Jacobs went to the Crows for picks 33 and 67 and assumed the number 1 ruck mantle off big Ivan, it is massively over the odds and laughable IMO.
The Crows can cop our second pick or Nason and our 3rd.
If not then it's off to plan B for us.
We do have a plan B I hope.

Agree, if Maric is out of contract, wants out and wants to come to us then we have all the hand in this trade or the Crows can face another Houli situation. A straight swap for Nason would be a pefect result for both clubs.

28 and 33 are the same thing and 67 is worth nothing. In this draft Hawks have already announced they will only be having two live picks and plenty of other clubs will follow their lead if they can.

What do you want to convert pick 28 into by keeping it? A guy who walks straight into the team, claims a key role, and plays 100+ games? Ahhh that is what Maric is

Re: The Blair Hartley Project

I trust the team we have in place. We offered a 3rd round last year for Houli. We refused to do better and Essendon were stupid enough not to take it and forced everyone to the PSD.

Looking at the season Houli has had, 3rd rounder for him would have been paying unders. Essendon made it even cheaper.

So I trust that we'll only offer what we think is a fair trade. If the Crows want to play hard ball, they'll need to play with themselves.

:o

I'm sure they will be good at that.

Just ask Jake King what he thinks of them.

I don't see how this would be a perfect result for Adelaide. They already have players of Nason's ilk but better, the likes of Knights and Dangerfield. It certainly would be a perfect result for us.
