Noticed on Richo and a couple of the other players last night, that they had a blut tag like thing hanging out the tops of their jumper (where the tag would usually be. But it was too big to be a jumper tag.
Noticed some players wearing them in todays Swans-Melb game also.
It appears to be some sort of brace. Is this the next trend in AFL football as the gloves were a few years back?
Can anyone tell me what this brace like thing is and what it is supposed to do?

Hey TD - it's actually a GPS system that some of the players wear now. It feeds back data on how far a player has run during a game and where on the field that player ran. It's probably a useful coaching tool. Due to their expense, we can't afford for every player to wear one (although I'm sure the richer clubs probably can).

Deledio has worn one the last 2 weeks, it would be interesting to see how far he ran. Lindsay Gilbee said on the Sunday Footy show today that Rob Murphy ran about 16k yesterday

That would be what you would expect of a onballer/centre line player - what possie does murphy play?

Didn't Greg Stafford wear one in a practice game at Vic Park and jump in his car while on the bench and do laps of the ground just to rack at some Km's!!!

Classic gag.

Thanks offside. Wow - gee that is a astronomical distance for a HFF or CHF . What kind of distance do the midfielders do if a HFF does 16k?

murphy played ff yesterday, amazing!

we should make some of the younger players wear these things at nite, so the club can keep an eye on them, stop them getting into trouble.
