The coming out thread - TW is not the man we need.

Skill, how crap was Geelong last year! now look at them...
Confidence and game experience will change that
How simplistic people want to make their arguements

I think he deserves to stay for at least another year. Gee, Frawley got his time and also got us to finals, just took us in the totally wrong direction afterwards. It takes time to rebuild a list and hopefully we will start seeing the rewards next year, but if not, we really shouldn't be rocking the boat too soon. I just don't think we were as prepared for what was going to happen this year as much as Terry was, but I don't think even he thought it would be this bad?

Just my opinion.

excellent analogy madcow. the lack of kpp ruckmen and big bodies in general is where wallace has failed the club as a list builder. or is it millers responsibility as the head of the footy dept and recruiting. kpp should have been the priority in 2004 2005. big bodied ready to go kids should have been tergeted. theres every chance 4 or 5 of the senior talls going this yr what a gaping hole this area will become.

in 2005 carlton took 5 talls in the nd which took the total amount of talls on their list to 21 they also had 2 200+cm players on their rookie list. way to many i hear people say and i agree.but they are rebuilding. in time they will weed out the lesser talls probably offload them to us and have a total list of 16 18 talls.

the 2006 draft they picked another 5 talls while delisting 5 but they did add another to their rookie list. so with rookies they have 24 talls on their list its a big imbalance but they are quite obviously targeting their spine they will build the spine with good depth and then they will look after the smalls mediums as far as quantity goes later. in taking so many talls its not as if they have totally ignored mids and on ballers. in fact they have clearly taken best player available in their view with their first picks. walker pick 2 2003. stevens pick 2 preseason. 2004 russell pick 9 2004. murphy pick 1 2005. gibbs pick 1 2006.theres a method in their madness they are adresssing key areas of their list whereas we are doing it ad hock.

Agreed , this guys feet are covered in chalk at the end of the game he runs so wide.

I was happy for him to get a go this year and thought he was most worthy rookie to goet first promotion but after watching him this year cant say i am a fan.

Delist we can do better.

Unfortunately I think many of this team and just plain lazy and mentally weak, hence the turnovers occur.

I'm more inclined to say that many of the team are just plain young and inexperienced. The turnovers are getting more frequent as their bodies (which are not ready yet for a full season of AFL) wear down.

No excuses for the senior players, but you can't get rid of them all (despite which, TW has ditched a lot of them). There MUST be a senior core of players capable of playing 4 quarters for 22 matches, otherwise the back half of your season would be full of 150-point shellackings.

Terry's the right coach for me. Back when he started he was very clear to the supporters that he predicted a dip in year 2 or 3 of the plan as the team became progressively younger, and while I'll admit to being disappointed with how deep the dip has been, I prefer it to topping up with Paul Hudson types to keep a few fans happy.

Glad to see the tail is no longer wagging the dog.

Duro - you have just nailed it my friend "Skill, how crap was Geelong last year! now look at them..."
Club upheavals cost geelong dearly last year because bomber and king were being very naughty.
As a result Bomber lost the players completely, thus a quality team with quality players were totally disinterested and would not perform.
Why are our senior players totally disinterested? something has caused this and we are getting every excuse from TW. Something smells, is it the PR possum?

this is getting very dizzy, is this the 23rd thread on this?? :hihi

getting rid of him is one thing, replacing him and paying off his contract is another

I don't make the descision to get rid of him, I will leave that for others.

Its just good to not want to find excuses to defend him, or want him at the club anymore.

I was in denial for half this year, by thinking he could turn this around, but

with little to no improvemnt to the team as a whole - I can't hide my dissatisfaction in reference to TW's reign.

Hes here, he will stay - I just now think we won't go forward. thats all.

If he is going to go, we have got to replace him with something better. Otherwise what are we achieving???

Why the constant talk about Terry, it's not his fault entirely. There are 22 other humans who are actually paid (quite handsomely) to follow instructions and play as directed by the coaching staff.
If anybody here thinks that the way our players are currently performing in their job is the way the boss wants them to, must have their head stuck up their proverbial "A".

On Footy Classifieds tonight, Duck and I should say something else (can't normally stand his arrogance) he summed it up pretty nicely
" This Richmond side is the worst AFL team I have ever seen run onto a footy ground. Worse than Carlton of a couple of years ago.
The players have the most to answer for, they're pathetic, slow, unaccountable, don't provide pressure, weak etc et etc. It's not all the coaches issue."

So all these things we at PRE have heard. written and read about from other PREnders, but it's the first time I've heard someone in the media say it like it is and not gooey it up a little. Hopefully most if not all the club were watching and are embarressed and then get angry and the stick it right up Collingwood.

GO TIGES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

TW constantly picking players who are not hard enough is the cause. All one desires as a player is that your team mates will put it in and go hard for the ball. He has dropped hard at it players for weak spineless money grabbers who at best would struggle in VFL because they never lift when the hard stuff is needed (in saying that didn't I notice Pitiful having a crack early on on Sat?).
I say pick your hardest squad Terry, drop the weak ones, and see how the team goes go. You haven't spun that one yet.

Actually Clawster i left out all the KPP,s not because i dont rate them.My simple theory is if your KPP,s are surrounded by skilled mids/flankers,you can turn a Micheal Laffy into a decent player[Ok maybe not Laffy ;D].I always look back at how much better Richo would be seen in the football world if he played for a side like Brisbane during their era.Midfield depth is the absolute key IMO.get that right and the KP,s will look after themselves

Walhalla, do you mean selecting for games, or recruiting? If its the former, he doesn't have a lot to choose from in terms of hardness because of all the young 'uns coming through. He has to blood them and they have to learn. Like most, I'm disappointed at the direction the team has taken this season, but I maintain my belief that it is for the greater good and that it will start paying off in 2009.

I'm with Tiger74, all this rehashing and reiteration is making me dizzy. How many times and how many threads are going to be devoted to the same old, same old? I truly think that some people "support" the RFC because they're looking for something to lash out at, and a losing sports team is such an easy target. If it spares their partner or kids getting a tongue lashing then well and good, but the amount of vitriole directed to the club and players on this site is quite distressing at times. Yeah, I know, I shouldn't read PRE if it disturbs me but one of the reasons I do is because when I read some of the nasty posts on this site, I realise I'm not such a bad person compared to the bitterness and angst some are harbouring. And also, there are some very funny posts on here, although the're few and far between these days.

Despite all the b!tching and moaning, PRE inspires a sense of cameraderie - I like that and am grateful to Rosy and the mods for keeping it going.

there endeth my rant.

I think he said worse side for years not ever. He saw Fitzroy in its last year, we are not as bad as they were.
