The Connex Tigers in Schools program is a unique opportunity for primary aged children to experience a visit from an AFL club at their school whilst at the same time learn more about safe train travel.

Representatives from both Connex and Richmond conduct a fun and active football clinic with the children before a short presentation about safe train travel concludes each session. Where possible Richmond AFL players attend and actively participate in the sessions.

This partnership between Connex and the Richmond Football Club is in its second year and we are excited about continuing the program this year. In 2005, 16,000 children participated at 121 primary schools and in 2006 175 schools and more than 20,000 children will be visited by the Tigers.

This website provides Connex Tigers in Schools participants or would be participants an opportunity to further their knowledge on safe train travel in the way of competitions and activities but to also improve their footy skills by obtaining additional tips from Richmond's players. It also allows teachers to register their school's interest to join the program.

The Connex Tigers in Schools program is a unique experience promoting AFL football and Train safety for primary schools across Melbourne. Our in-school program aims to introduce the unique skills of Australian Football to children whilst promoting maximum participation and enjoyment via an active football clinic. The program also delivers a train safety message to the children at the conclusion of each session.

The fantastic benefits of our program include, each participating class receiving their own Connex Tigers in Schools football for use at recess and lunch and all children receiving their own Connex Tigers in Schools Kit and of course have an AFL Club and its players visit the school.
