The cream of the crop to miss out? /Juniors that missed out. [Merged]

Better add Bryce Campbell from Norwood to the list of players who are/have been training with us and are being looked at for a potential rookie spot.

He's an aggressive, well skilled and tough hff/mid-fielder who's 20 y.o. and played for the NSW/ACT Rams a few years ago. Was overlooked by Sydney for a rookie spot in 2002.

:hihi

And if we picked him up we could give him the No.9 jumper so save on some sign writing costs........ ;D

Yes, I saw Bryce Campbell.

Took me back to those great Billy Nicholls days.

Bigger arse than Jennifer Lopez. ;)

Guys n gals, whether we want to admit it or not, the club has limited finances available and that has to be taken into some consideration.

We *shouldn't* be in this position, but we are, so we might have to take a hit on the chin (perhaps) when it comes to drafting more interstate rookies.

Also, don't be surprised if we don't fill the list full of rookies. GM said on the tuesday we met them, that just because we have the space, doesn't mean we'll fill it. There has to be a rookie with the potential to make it in the AFL first.

Stack up with as many of them as you are allowed starting with who you think will be the potential best and move downwards.

If they show nothing 12 months later cut them and do it again.

Agreed, but there are a heap of them out there waiting for rookie draft day.

Midfielders - S.Phillips, D.Nicholls, Carnell, Gordon, Bowes, M.White, Bode, .....
Rucks - McEntee, A.Graham
Key Possies - Taggart, Meyer, Wall, R.Thomas, B.Fraser
Flankers - Kelleher, Rischbieth

Rischbieth looks like Ryan O'Keefe just waiting to happen again, great lead & mark.
Kelleher, another Brett Archer waiting to happen.
Taggart, a tall strong FB who played open aged footy in 2005, and can play forward.

There are many others I haven't mentioned.
There's heaps there.

Assuming everyone takes a rookie, that clears out that list, is there enough talent to last another 2-3 rounds? (Not everyone is going to take more than 1 or 2, I understand that). Just saying there needs to be a player with enough talent to make it, still available when we get through to our 4th + pick.

Not every club is going to be fully participating in the rookie draft.

Plenty there for everyone. Plus the others who trained at PR Sunday last.

Alot of names mentioned by PREnders and other phantom drafts over the past few months -

names such as - Bode, Dzufer, Graham, Grant, Grima, Jackson, Kelleher, Looby, Lower, McEntee, Rischbieth, Seal, and Toovey.

They must have something going for them and be talented if they have been mentioned so often.

Great opportunity to grab one of the above in the PSD and one or two more in the rookie draft.

There's oodles of players. The clubs are not just looking at discarded kids from last week's National Draft. They are looking at players from all over the country in various leagues..mature age players....players from the VFL etc. etc.
