The Dead Wood

Strikes me as an Ottens-type, whos biggest interest in footy is the pay cheque.
I'd imagine that couldnt be further from the truth.

Wallace is the deadest of all the wood. take a chainsaw and prune the self-serving, unimaginative goose whose record is worse than Frawleys with a better list.

Disagree. Miller is much deader wood than Wallace. But Terry's timber may be decidedly dodgy by the end of the year as well.

Bowden, McMahon, Pettifer, Meyer, Jackson, Pattison, JON, Hyde, Tivendale need to go. No doubt not all will but they should.

Raines, Polo, Tuck, Schulz , Hughes, Casserley on notice. Need to lift severely. In Casserley's case he just needs to get his arse on the park. No good having someone at the club for 3 years and hasn't played a game, injured or not.

McMahon wont go as it means Wallace stuffed it up completely and he would never admit that.

How long did we keep Andrew Krak on the list, McMahon will be the new Krak.

No doubt you are right. Won't change my mind on the matter. Krak had 7 years.

Pattison. Slow, unskilled, pedictable and does not fit into any position. Trade now whilst there may be some currency and not when there's none.

I reckon tambling is the new Krak, but not as damaging around goals

Pattison is not a ruckman! He was a junior CHF??

Whatever. No matter what position he plays it won't overcome his lack of skill and footy nous. Imagine him at CHF!! He can't kick and he can't take a contested grab. Time to cut our losses.

The goal has got to be developing a list that even with injuries, can consistently reach finals and challenge for flags. With this in mind, get rid of and don't play anyone who has no chance of reaching this level.

From today's team, Hyde and Pettifer should be dropped and not picked again. Neither up to elite AFL standard.

The least said about McMahon the better - horrendous recruiting decision. Should be dropped and not played again (even though this won't happen).Talk about a defender who can't defend.

I also don't think Pattison has a future. Tries hard but not tall enough to be a ruckman, not good enough to play anywhere else.

Question marks about a number of others such as Tuck and Newman. It really is time for the younger/untried players on the list to be given a go in the remaining 12 rounds. Morton, Connors, Collins, Polo and any other of this group need to be given an opportunity to see if they can cut it at AFL Level.

No point recalling Tivendale or persevering with proved duds such as Hyde. If the younger replacements areno good, then so be it. At least we would know where we really stand and then can satrt to address it again at the draft.

hmm ive said in time we need to turn over as many as 25 geez i could have underestimated.

atm the only players i would be keen to keep are.

deledio riewoldt putt rance cotchin connors collins edwards foley morton and moore.
every other player is delistable mostly, tradeable or short term.
we have other kids obviously you are going to have a wait see approach.all up in 3yrs half the list should be tyrned over.

Doubt that Patto could play CHF, pretty sure you need to be able to mark overhead to play there

We should also identify what we need, although it'd be easy to say we need one of everything!!

However as a priority in the short term, we need: -

- at least one quality ruckman. Hopefully Putt will be able to play the second ruck/resting forward role in years to come.
- two inside midfielders with excellent kicking skills and pace.
- at least one key forward - when Richo plays up the ground, we have no key target to go to under pressure. Hence short kicks going round in circles. Riewoldt is really a third tall/mid option. Not confident that either Polak or Hughes are good eneough to step up.
- one small defender who can defend. Maybe that White has to revert to this role in the short term. King has been too loose over the past month.
- two decently built half backs, who have speed, kicking skills and can defend. I think Schulz maybe the option as a CHB.

Given the above wish list, shows how far away we really are.

tottally agree, too many passengers. Players that have been given too many chances, time to shift our attention to watch the kids. why pick morton and not play him. wheres meyer gone?wheres, polo, collins, conners, rance.. PLEASE give them a go, pettifer lazy, johnson slow, brown only playing because terrys mate, bowden gooneee,

There was an incident by Joel on the wing today that made me think his time is just about up.

Richo was desperate for a shepherd to put in and Joel instead of protecting his team mate, who's head was over the ball, looked for the soft handball receive instead. The Swans pressured Richo en masse and swept the ball away much to Richardson's frustration. Who could blame him when players are sea gulling around packs instead of protecting the player at the coal face? It wasn't good enough from a senior player.

I though Bowden once again was shown up for pace today, had very little effect on the ground where the game mattered and looks to be a player rapidly approaching the end. Not convinced that a youngster in Morton or Connors doesn't have as much to offer in the position going forward with yet another season down the drain.
Our forwards were completely ineffectual when the game was there to be won today and Bowden just looked all at sea against quality opposition.
The clock continues to tick for our former AA, JDM winner..

I agree in Petiffer has to go, and I think it will be tivendales last season.

Before we start the talk of get rid of terry we should reserve judgement as he has them playing good football with tackling and being hard at the footy, Today against the swans we were the same old disappointment that gets served up but hopefully it will be the last ::) with all the positives in the previous weeks performances, hopefully we come to play against Adelaide this week and put this week down as a wake up call we needed.

Whilst I love Pattos heart and wish some other players played with his endevour, he just isn't going to work out. He is not an effective ruckman and he is not an effective CHF. Would get a better return playing Cartledge off the bench or puting games into Graham or even Putt.
