PUNT ROAD END | Richmond Tigers Forum

I just want opinions, feedback, call it what you like re the above topic.

I BELIEVE since Terry has arrived at the club our young players have not really improved, some senior players are favoured over our young players and really compared to other sides we have gone backwards in developing them.

The young players that have been given a chance and have develpoed are Will,Foley, King,Tuck was given a go and the rest are either stagnated, in the coburg side or floundering by not getting enough game time to get their confidence.

I feel for them. A player like Hughes springs to mind who plays a maximum say 3-4 games then that is it. I really think this player should be in the side till the end of this year, playing CHF and leave him there.

I believe some senior players will spit the dummy if they get dropped and are not playing to their potential.

I feel that Terry is favouring some.

I feel that he is playing players out of position, and they are struggling. A player like Deleido comes to mind. The last three weeks we have struggled in the first quarter. He has made strange moves and his match day game plan is either too hard for the players to execute or worse.

I am starting to think and i started a thread on this after the *smile* debacle and smashing by Geelong last year that he has lost the players and they are not playing for him,but themselves and have no pride in the jumper.

He has stated ,Miller too that they need to get games (50) into their young players to see results. Yet and i say yet with frustration that young kids get overlooked for senior players that are playing below par, seem not interested or dont follow his game plan.

He stated last week that senior players would pay yet Hyde was dropped and two young players were sent back to Coburg in Polo and Hughes. Were is the logic in this. Is he scared to make some tougher calls.

We are going backwards fast. At A RATE OF NOTS. Senior, ex players from succesful clubs, commentators of other stations have said as such. These comments i listen and respect.

A caller called before the broadcast game as to why the tigers are always underdogs, why we are not taken seriously. Well my fellow tiger supporter just have a look at the last two games and the first half of football both games.

I never read anything into the carlton game as it was only the blues, but i tell you now if we were to play them now we would lose.

I question their recruitment and Miller's influence in this or lack of. The fact that Terry is trying to implement a style that the players cant cope with and like any old habit muscle memory clicks in and they resort to old habits(mainly the senior players). The fact that he and previously coaches and either recruited for the short term or to save their jibs ,our lack of tall key position players is killing us. Ultimately this will cost his, millers jobs by seasons end.

I have never been or am i Terry Wallace fan. I am sorry to say this. I say it as i see it.

Finally this lack of development in our kids, and game time over senior players who are passed it, are playing without passion, support or fire will kid our promising kids. Kids such as Hughes, Polo,Edwards,Connors, Cassely just to namea few and the new batch we recruited this year i fear that they will not be given that experience they need to remain on the list and will get frustrated by Terry and his spin.

I am prepared for pain again this year if we can fast track some kids.get them games and watch out 2009. But i fear for this club and more so for our kids.
