The effect of injuries at Richmond

Interesting method of calculation based on the factors which that poster considers most relevant. It's all hypothetical of course as there's no way to calculate the true impact of injuries, however the figures support what we know already which is that we've had a bad run.

because of our shocking depth injuries do impact on us severely. i would say though we have not had an enormous amount of injuries. take out cogs newman brown and thursfield and i reckon these 4 players would account for the vast majority of games lost to injury.the fact that they are our better senior players with no real replacements is what really hurts.

I always get reminded not to look to far forward, and that where not a finals team yet, and where only year 2 of our path to September glory,.

So besides not being good for the individuals concerned, it has given the club oppurtunity to get games into some very young players, and in most cases that will be a blessing.

Yes its sad those players got hurt, however in the long run, some (not all) of these injury problems may be the best thing for the development of the clb.

I donn't mean to sound callous as all injuries are bad, but the big picture says very young players developed.

Saying that, I hope all are fit and firing in 2007.

GO TIGES!!!!!!!

yeah i'm usually shattered by injuries

but i was always of the view that this was another development year. if we made the finals it would have been good but i don't think we could have ever had a tilt at the flag. so we were really better off just looking at some gradual improvement whilst still blooding some youngsters and getting a decent first pick.

if it wasn't for the injuries to our backline it is likely polo and raines would have been more starved for opportunity. remember raines took the place of chaffey in rd 1 as small defender. and polo despite great form in the vfl probably wouldn't have come in as early as he did.

patto and foley wouldn't have had as much game-time etc. etc.

in the long-run there's no doubt this injury riddled year will help the tiges. as long as cogs, thursfield knobes and co can get back to their best, we should be in the drivers seat

Add long term injuries to Schulz & Richardson. Both missed large chunks of the year.
No coincidence with these two fit & firing we are starting to kick winning scores.

i wouldnt say schulzy has contributed to much oldie. hes given some decent contests but has failed to make a real mark.

Yeah perhaps he hasnt had a huge had a huge impact but little doubt this years been a vast improvement.
16.4 goals isn't a bad return given the footy he missed and only playing in the forward line from half way. At 21 his graph's headed in the right direction. Been a great foil for Richo. I'm happy. :)

I noticed you conveniently covered over the fact Richo was out. ;)
