The eight

For us to make the finals we needed to beat the bulldogs and saints. A finals side wins the games it needs to. We haven't.

Having said that, I still think we've got a decent bunch of kids coming through with plenty of others yet to be tested. I want to see a bit of Hawthorn 2006: a strong finish to the year with a promising bunch of kids and then shooting right up the ladder the following year!

Go tiges!

You are a poor fan Claw. You are probably the guy who has been cheering for other sides for the last 25 years so we can get good draft picks. Has not worked mate.
I am sick of being on the bottom and will take joy out of every win. I am sick of our matches being called battles of the cellar dwellers or battle of the battlers. I am sick of finishing last and getting first or second draft pick only to select a dud. I am sick of negativity. I am sick of having the *smile* taken out of me for being a Tigers supporter. I am sick of coming last in the tipping competition because of my loyalty to he Tiges. I am NOT sick of cheering for my beloved yellow and black and being on the edge of my seat hoping for a win. Which is exactly what I will be doing here in sunny NQ at 4pm this afternoon.

I'd say you've been supporting opposition teams against the Tigers for years. All in the name of 'tanking'.

anyone here who seriously think we're gonna make the 8 is delusional. some say we're gonna win our next 5 games, well lets just wait and see shall we...?

we play Melbourne (h), Port (a), Carlton (h), West Coast (a) and essendon (h). do i need to remind you that we are yet to win a game when we wear the black shorts? and we have only ever beaten port away once. the same with west coast. 5 in a row? thats bin.

Probably won't but the way its all panned we're still unbelievably with a good chance and a good draw. That starts with Melbourne today. Yes we have a bad record against Port in Adelaide but we did win comfortably in 2006 and only lost by 13 points in 2005 (40 points lst year) so our record there of late is relatively good. Hawthorn as I understand won for the first time against Adelaide over there in 14 years so runs are there to be broken. One thing for certain is that if we dont win 4 out of the next 5 against the poorer teams then we dont deserve to be there anyway.

Oh yes only lost to Adelaide by 9 points last year too at AAMI stadium.

Great post No. 4.

Makes me want to laugh everytime I hear Wallace or our players speaking publicly about making the 8.

Amazing enough we are in touch, 1.5 game out and playing an 8 point game against Port next week.

We need to play 4 quarters to win that game Colonel.

I'm afraid the way we played against the bottom team after half time today, the 8 is a pipedream.

Agree with both, TF and DG, but the good thing is that next week's game is actually 'live'.

We're going to have to play much better to win, but at least we are playing with real chips.

And Calton the week after. So we have to make our own luck by winning.

I am warming to the blackjack metaphor.

Right now our season is like a hand of 15 when the dealers is showing an ace and there are lots of face cards still in the deck.

The odds are stacked against us, but we're not bust yet.

I'd love us to play 4 quarters but like us, Port have beaten no-one of note this year. West Coast, Saints, Essendon and Fremantle. We should be in with a big show.
