The end is near - whats been your highlight?

Foley and King. I just LOVE Jake King. Love the story, love his aggression and toughness and swagger and never-say-die attitude, love the way he reads the play and knows where the ball's gonna be. I just know he's gonna grow next year...so watch out AFL!!!!!

4 - Watching one of the PRE girls do the nudie run on the G tomorrow to get rid of the Helen Demanenko (?) curse we have been under since 1982 (don't forget your Carlton scarf!!) :hihi

Nah to fully exorcise that curse it has to be a PRE bloke doing a nudie run. :o

Anyway, my highlights.
1. Foley of course... (those first two minutes of the Collingwood game were GOLD!)
2. Richo being Richo and beating anyone the opposition puts on him and running them all ragged
3. Thursfield
4. McGuane overcoming a goal post on the head
5. Jake King being a feisty little bloke
6. Lids perhaps finally finding his niche.
7. And a win tomorrow............ :-*

That'll surely happen on Sunday, with Carlton coming back at Melbourne, the streaker happens and Carlton fall in a heap ?

But WE won't be there on Sunday, we will on Saturday!

That the year is over.

Not in a snide or smart way but I have never experienced such a depressing and dramatic footballing year. Having your season over by Round 5 is one of the more soul destroying footballing situations that can occur. I really lost the desire to care, I emotionally drained. Just numb. I thought the year was going to be rocky but not like that. The Spin, the stories, the company line changing from week to week, the selection table just dismissing everything that was spun in the media, the spin making my head spin. I swear sometimes this year my head was spun like that kind out of the Exorcism.

After today went back to Young & Jackson with the Old Fella and like most years lately toasted the year with a expensive scotch and multiple frothies over the drip tray proclaimed it another wasted year.

Richmond, this is our lot.

As a proud brightsider ;D

I honestly believe patches, even qtr's of this season has been as good and exciting as I remember us playing.
Other then one game, competive in most an even in winning chances in most games with a very young list.
Games into kids, we didnt just keep playing old blokes to keep the scoreboard respectable.

Axe,Polly,Thirsty,Eddie,Connors,Lids an Bling showed some great signs

geez i have been a huge critic this year....but there were some great sights today.....

as the wheel turns....

lost my voice....

Three and a half wins is not and never will be acceptable, especially when we need to re-build a winning culture at this club.

The Geelong massacre really exposed the horrible truth for us all.

From that point, we'll hopefully now address better than ever before our recruiting, list management, player development and coaching. If one thing can be achieved from this year, I hope that lesson has been properly learned and understood.

The last four weeks, we've seen better performances and we may have some younger players that can really play - Foley is a star rover and deserves all Australian Selection while Delidio, Tambling, Thursfield, Connors and Edwards all look like quality AFL players. Other young players like King, Pattison and Mcguane show promise, although their kicking skills must improve if they are to reach elite level status.

Jury is still out on Riewoldt, Hughes, Oakley-Nicholls and some others - but we really need some to come through. Our past recruiting record tells me that not all will succeed.

Polak has been a good trade recruit although next year he has to be played and preform as an accountable CHB.

Look forward to Brown playing a full season in 2008 and Simmonds and Coughlan returning well from injury.

However this trade and draft period is vital if we're to fast track our path to recovery. 8-10 delists/trades is what is required - let's not kid ourselves with the quality (or lack thereof) of our playing list.

Aside from the four already gone, it's goodbye to Krakouer, Hartigan, Schulz, Hyde, and at least a couple of others. The future is brighter after the last few weeks, but let's not hope for success, let's make it happen.
