The first win

The Tigers first win from 2006 - strewth that is hard to pick - I generally lean towards the positive side - brightsider if you like - but lets look at the draw and see why our first win is hard to pick -

Rd 3 Weagles - not a strong record a Subiaco - Doubtful
Rd 4 Lions - did beat them last year at the Gabba - but after a trip to Perth then home to Melbourne then up to the Gabba - doubtful
Rd 5 Blues - six day break from the Gabba (after Subiaco) to the MCG plus it is a Friday night game (a night where we have not won in years) - we have the players to go with the Blues but they maybe jaded after all the recent travel - possible win
Rd 6 Bombers - Saturday night game - we should be getting close to our best in match fitness and barring injuries and a poor mental outlook we could give them a run - possible win
Rd 7 Swans - Saturday arvo at the TD - the way last years premiers are playing and remember we beat them last year (at the G though) - you would have to say a possible win
Rd 8 Crows - nah - they are our nemisis side - doubtful
Rd 9 Cats - Skilled Stadium - we took them to a point there last time - but difficult task this year - doubtful
Rd 10 Dockers - At Subiaco - strewth it only gets tougher as their players grow another leg at home plus they become 6 inches taller - doubtful
Rd 11 Kangaroos - we had them on toast last year and let them off the hook - it was a game we should have won - this year at the G - possible win

That is the half way mark of the season - if all the possible wins go our way then we could turn the corner with 4 wins and 7 losses - and with our run home we could manage to shake the life out of 8th spot on the ladder.

Then again the close games could all go against us and we could be 0 wins and 11 losses. With a much disgusted Tiger Army baying for blood and all our young footballers mentally newted.

At the moment - Unfortunately being a Tiger Supporter has stopped being fun - it has become a labour of love only - some day soon there will be a spark to ignite the flame of passion again. Some day soon!....................Carn the Tigers

I don't know when, it will come but not when we expect it. The fianls are a long way off with our percentage at the moment. We lost and our percnetage went up! We need to crush a side just to get back to break even percentage.

Hopefully Carlton but they are much improved at the minute. Great performance by the Fev last week and has shown plenty in his first two games. Looks as fist and commited as I have seen him.

Aware we're being realistic but need the players to have the attitude they can win the next time they step out on to ground else that first win may be too long in coming...

Let's just concentrate on next outing v WC & concern ourselves with Brisbane,Carlton etc, when the time comes....Hopefully we can exhibit the same spirit shown v St K at Subiaco & who knows ?

Forgetting this week our next 4 after that are all winnable games.I'd be surprised if we didn't win 1 or 2 of them.

Are you going up to Brizzy for the game again this season 64 MungBeans ??

We'll get on a roll after taking down the Lions at the Gabba and clean up four on the trot.
There will be singin and dancin in the street for tiger fans because of our presumed better draw in the second half of the season, but as always reality will bite, we'll be patchy for the rest of the season and finish with about eight or nine wins for the year.

Unfortunately it will be a long year for the tiges.....I certainly expect to get up against the baggers but if that dont happen...... :help

rnd 11. will only win a maximum of 5 games more likely 3 or 4. its a real shame priority picks have gone by the way side. terry should of played most of the kids last yr guaranteeing a priority pick and gaining desperately needed experience for our kids.
Im going to cop heaps for this but it seems we need a horror run with injury to most of the duds for the kids to get a game.

Enjoy them when we get them, because I don't think there will be many, but it will lay the foundations for a successful future by forcing the young players to stand up.

Yes you will cop heaps for that statement Claw, coz a feral just loves to see a Kellaway baulk at shadows, a Gaspar helicopter pass landing in Bay 13 or a Tivendale showing that he does in fact have a right side!!!

I don't see why you should cop heaps, you make perfect sense. The system was there to be manipulated and playing youngsters would have been a great way of both fast tracking their development and securing the best possible draft position at the end of the year. Nothing immoral or wrong about that.
Sadly though Wallace and co didn't see it that way - publicly distinguishing their approach with Hawthorns longer term strategy for success. And I don't see anything bar injury this year that's going to change their attitude. Oh well, let's hope if we only win 3 or 4 (as I also suspect we might) that there really is a 'superdraft' and that the priority pick of 17 might be worth a top ten in other years...
