Is it just me or have the footy media sunk to new depths this year?
As the only stake holder in the game that isn't accountable, I really think that the AFL and the clubs need to make it known that enough is enough. I am obviously motivated by the whole non-event that has blown up over Greg Miller, but every club seems to be in the firing line (Not having a go at Greg, just the way the media turned it into a 'Richmond amateurism' show).
Caro's article this morning on Joel Bowden apparently being aloof with the media and thus somehow mentally deranged was the final straw for me. I generally like her articles and find her insightful, but when journos write articles about players because they WON'T talk, then there is something wrong.
Please- there are plenty of excess 'experts' in this industry (and most of them are on TV- cough, Archer, cough), it is time for the AFL to force a cull by limiting access to clubs if the journo's can't find something more interesting to write about and show a little integrity.
How about a bit of analysis, you know, just for a change?
