Coming in on the train, when I heard Kellaway was out I thought we were in for a pounding.

I haven't watched the tape (and I'm not going to) but was there any stage yesterday where we chopped off a pass into the forward line? I'm sure it's no coincidence that when he was out against the Swans, Hall had a field day as well. This bloke reads the incoming ball better than anyone else in our backline IMHO and knows when to leave his man to either intercept or spoil.

He did play against the WB dumping though - although I imagine more of their goals were through the midfield than via a leading forward.

Do any of the stats gurus out there have our performance w and w/o AK? W L and %ge.

As has been mentioned in some other posts, too many times when we had a spare man, he was caught in 'no mans land' running AWAY from the bloke with the ball and not getting into the leading players path either. The few times where we actually ran at the bloke with the ball, their disposal wasn't as good and we were able to regain possession. Something wrong with the game plan here as we have been doing this all year.

Terry quoted the number without Kellaway, RM.

IIRC, we win 17% of games when Andy doesn't play.

Not sure where but it was mentioned recently that we only have a 13% win ratio with Andy out.  I'm not sure of the details whether that was this season or overall but maybe someone else remembers?

Just read your post Dyer. Seems I'm a tad out with the %. Do you remember the details?

That comes as no surprise - his experience is vastly underrated and shows up glaringly only when he's missing.

Having said that though, if that stat is taken over Andy's career, it maybe that we only win 17% of games anyway ;)

On te 9 footy show this morning they said he did his hamstring surfing, and will miss another 2-3 weeks :(

I think you're right, rosy. I thought after I'd posted that that it was a lower number in reality. My blue.

As distinct from 18% when he does  ;D
If we are flaging not having Kellaway as an excuse for not winning games we are in serious trouble.

the stats don't lie. i admit i was one advocating for him retiring this year 3 months ago. i don't think that now. he's vital to our structure. we need to look for another AK. who else on our list fits his mould?

Can't argue with that, jb. ;D

I think he's a huge loss to our back line, he just has the ability to mark under pressure, fill gaps and is just fearless when running back with the flight of the ball!! He jujst seems to make a difference without doing anything wonderful
