PUNT ROAD END | Richmond Tigers Forum

The importance of this years draft on the future of the club i feel cannot be overstated enough.

Terry, Miller, Jackson have a huge responsibility to build our list over the next two years for us to make a climb up the ladder.

Really it could be the end for these three if we dont climb up the ladder and recruit to cover our lack in areas such as another key backman, on baller, forward and ruck. It is imperative that they recruit kids with the right attitude, skill and build to build the club and make a climb up the ladder.

Over the next two drafts our side will be hardly recognisable with quite a few players from this years list not being there. I guess a huge cleanout this year i dont think can be achieved so it may take the two years depending on how deep this years draft is and maybe someone can help me out on that !

I expect a steady rise up the ladder next year so then next years draft will not give us the advantage of a priority pick or n# 1 pre season draft pick. Look all things being equal i wouldnt be surprised if we finished in the eight with an ouce of luck with Simmo, Cogs, Polo bakc and some further development from our kids this year and some playing in the Coburg colors.

It could be exciting times but it comes down to the attitude of the players, the recruitment of the required players (young kids) to the club and Terry's game plan. Also a decent pre season in the weights room wouldnt go astray.

Thanks
