THE MAKING OF TWO FUTURE CHAMPIONS

It all depends on the individual's willingness to improve. There's many examples in other sports of players either changing their action to improve dramatically or else simply improving equally dramatically later in their careers. IMO, as long as Pattison becomes a decent kick his other qualities will make him a valuable player. He doesn't have to improve to Deledio's standard or anything. He just needs to be able to get the job done.

Just watched the replay of the St Kilda game, and can't remember one bad kick from Patto. Looks ugly but usually seems to hit the man.

It's only when he is within 50 metres of goal that his kicking lets him down. ;D

He has improved no doubt but his kicking is a worry.

Like Redford preaches really good sides do not have half baked footballers, espically when it comes to kicking.

His kicking is a major concern for me. Heart of a lion but a lot of question marks.

His numbers do stack up very well for a third year ruckman but I just don't see him being a topflight ruckman. Maybe his journey at Richmond is too be the second stringer relief ruckman.

Did you watch the St.Kilda game from yesterday? If you did you would have seen numerous crap kicks; particularly a shot from 40 metres that not only covered a mere 30 metres but also never actually went anywhere neatr the goal!

on the boundary kicking to top of square. Poor decision but not a poor kick.

He was well inside the boundary Bill and he definitely had a shot. Came of the inside of his boot. Anyone who thinks he's not a terrible kick is kidding themselves.

If he is as bad as you say how could you know where he was aiming?

That's easy. Like the majority of his kicks it ended up nowhere near where he was aiming.

Seriously, do you think he wasn't having a shot from 40 metres. Do you really think he was trying to put it at the top of the square from 40 metres, to a contest? If he's not confident of kicking 40 metres it's just clarification on the *smile* quality of his kicking.

If this was in the first quarter I think it was a tough shot and he's not the only player in the competition that would have been trying to pass it off but his kick after he was called to play on looked like a shot at goal and was definitely a shocker.
