I think another factor is that they can’t seem to work out why we’re so good and how we keep doing it. They continually put it down to one or two players, but it’s not. It’s an entire team, all giving their all, every game and they all buy into what we’ve put in place. Hawthorn maybe did this during their three peat and the Dogs in 2016, but no other team does, not consistently. Everyone else is jealous and it hurts to wish that they’re the team that was the competition’s joke for so long.
All of that and more.
We are profitable.
We have >100k passionate members.
We are leaders in so many areas - Muslim community, Indigenous community, women's sport, and more.

I said last year that if we won the Premiership that we'd hit 110k members this year. Covid might still put a dampener on membership but we'll still be top of the tree.

The HUN haven't exactly stated it as fact but leaving it open that Rance leaving is linked to the Hardwick story.
Lot of unknowns but would have thought they are clutching at straws here.

There is no hatred, it's just perspective and the sensitivity that comes from being passionate about a club. People pay more attention to Richmond coverage and therefore think it is different.

Take this specific example, the coverage of the initial announcement of the Hardwick and Buckley splits was almost identical.

The additional coverage is a story in no small part because Hardwick has consistently chosen to introduce his wife into the media. How many times have you heard other coaches talk about their wives opinion on team selection or comments they've made a press conferences?

So him making 'Mrs Hardwick' a story plus the inter-organisation nature of the relationship which is topical in the AFL given the previously sacked executives, and it is going to be covered.

And just to top it all off you have the Captain's wife putting a public flag in the sand for his ex-wife in a move that was either naive or provocative. There's your club split angle and a bit more fuel.

Was Buckleys split all over the HS? Regardless it is a horrible paper.

Combination of tall poppy, click-bait and social media.

Collingwood have attracted it for years. Hawks to a lesser extent. Chris Scott.

Comes with the Territory.
Agree up to a point, but articles in the last 24 hours have contained nothing but speculation. Shitstain journalism.

I honestly think it’s all pretty equal currently.... clubs to target most as click bait tigers, pies n dons. Dons copped it hard for weeks on culture when coach n players opted out. Buckley was everywhere for weeks over marriage and Treloar and we keep doing basic dumb stuff to allow some form of a story...
Look at the balance over a couple of months and it’s peaks and troughs for all

Hardwick's marriage split has been done. Treloar was sacked with years to run on a contract. COVID breaches are fair game. But where's the story here?

Newspapers need to be separated into news and opinion. Epstein is all over the dartboard and obviously has very little actual information.

Herald Sun is trash. Feel sorry for dimma and his family.

However I am getting concerned how we continue to find new ways to be in the headlines, after 10 years of relative obscurity.

Is the wall of the Tiger Empire starting to crumble ??

Outsiders have been trying to weaken it by maintaining a barrage of rocks to chip away at it and induce structural failure.

All Empires fall eventually but most usually from within rather than without.

According to a recent article in the Hun regarding the proposed external review, there is significant opposition within the AFL for an outsider like Gale to take over from McLachlan. Current AFL CFO and broadcasting boss Travis Auld is the preferred internal candidate. If that name sounds familiar he ran the GCS during their darkest days. Hardly a shining example of success compared to what Gale has achieved.
They will never put someone from Richmond driving the Bus.
The hatred comes and drips from deep inside the AFL.
Didn't Parrot say, that Gale wasn't a chance when Gilligan got the job. And Brown and Lyold looked dumbfounded.
Robinson, Cornes and Parrott don't want anyone from Richmond running the comp.

If you read the book by Konrad ...The Hard Way....there is a section from Peggy on this matter. She says because RFC are now so very different from other clubs..see cultural inclusiveness etc, that there is a pushback from clubs and the media who are jealous or resistant of our success or style.
This is her explanation.
By the way, she also says that she thinks the MRO attention given to Lynch Grimes and Vlaustin was a directive from the AFL in response to the RFC opposition to the soft cap salary cuts. Very interesting that a measured person like Peggy has come out and said this.
TIs interesting , indeed that was a witch-hunt after that game v Ess in Darwin , the staging charges were absurd and reckless by the MRO as they incited every lunatic in the country to heap abuse on our players , to think they were thrown out 2 days later is just laughable

Lot of unknowns but would have thought they are clutching at straws here.
If Rance left because of Hardwick's infidelity then it's been known about for at least a year and how much influence has it had on the team's performance?
Totally clutching at straws.

There's a few tweets circulating from mid 2019 where there appears to be some sort of connection between the two parties. I wouldn't discount the potential time frame.
If there is a connection then the effect has been what?
HUN implying there's a connection and then suggesting upheaval?
If 2020's result came from upheaval bring some more on for 2021

If Beavis' shenanigans resulted in us winning Back to Back Flags, then I reckon we set him up with his own Harem.

Nothing can stop us.
They are digging up shitt from 2 years ago trying to bend us over.
Who's going to cop this year's September Slapping? Brisbane?
Or West Coast??

The Roman Empire lasted for 1000 years. Only 996 years to go. The draft for 3017 is looking quite strong atm
