Since 2004 we have seen the Western Bulldogs, Hawthorn and Carlton whip past us up the ladder. Will Essendon be next?
Last Friday night the Bombers did something we have failed to do for at least 5 years - beat a top team on their own terms and PUT THEM AWAY.
(I don't include our hollow victory against Hawthorn last year as they had a spot in the top 2 sewn up)
A few years ago Essendon were stodgy, slow, underskilled and easy to beat.
Not it seems they are the latest to outdraft, outwit and outmanouevre us. Look at how much of Essendon's exciting and pacy young talent is built from 1st, 2nd and 3rd round draft picks.
It once again throws the spotlight firmly on our RECRUITERS - how many failed picks until we make a decision on Jackson & Co?
So whaddaya reckon kids, is Essendon the latest to draft rings around us?
