There has been growing interest over the last couple of weeks about the possible debut of Dean Polo coming into the side in the very near future. A best on ground performance against Box Hill (25/04/06) and from all reports today against Werribee he put in another accountable performance.
It’s been a very long time since we have been excited about our young recruits having good games at Coburg (or the former Reserves) and over the last week we have seen Cleve Hughes work hard and run out with the RFC on Friday night.
Could we see another young Tiger wear the Yellow & Black against Essendon? Many who have seen Polo say that he is ready, is he?
The following is Dean Polo’s bio to refresh some people’s memory;
Stats from the Draft Camp
Height - 187cm
Weight - 78kg
Recruited from - Wy Yung/Gippsland U18

His work ethic, stamina and competitive nature around the pack drew the Tigers’ attention. Taken 20th overall in the 2004 National Draft, he is capable of fulfilling an attacking or defensive midfield role, attributes that helped him win a spot in the All-Australian under-18 side and win the Gippsland Power’s Best and Fairest award.

I don't expect people to automatically embrace Dean Polo because of course he hasn't played a senior game with the Tigers yet, he will encounter hurdles and that'll be his learning curve, however I do expect him to get your full support.
As Dean's proud President I personally don't think it's premature to include him in this weeks game against Essendon, if I were TW, this week is a big game, there will be an enormous crowd, a what a better occasion for Dean Polo to debut and really soak up the moment on the best stadium in the world, the MCG.
All the best Dean, I hope to see you running out wearing that black & yellow jumper.
