Agree with much that has been said on the CHB thread and partly because of that I have also moved slightly away from the idea that we should seek to take Leuenberger with our first draft pick.
First to the trade period.
1 Gaspar and d/p 42 and 58 to West Coast for d/p 15, which hopefully we are able to use to get Mckenzie.
If the Eagles lose the grand final again because of Hall and O'loughlan, I think they will be looking for a third tall back to help out Glass and Hunter, especially in finals. After coming back from injury Gas was playing pretty well in a defence which was backing up a rather leaky midfield. Gasa has had a great career at Richmond and may want to finish his career there, especially if Travis stays on their list.
With their inside knowledge of the hidden talent on offer in W A they may also be very pleased with the opportunity to take our picks 42 and 58?
2 Kellaway or Krakeour, and Tivendale to the Kangaroos for d/p 21 and 37.North like both Krak and Tiv and I guess might also be interested in Kellaway who is very much an 'Archer' type. I would prefer to keep Krak but would let him go if it proved necessary to get this deal done.
3 Knoble and d/p 26 to St kilda for d/p 9. The Saints need an experienced ruckman and Knoble offers more than the other possibilities. The clock is ticking as far as the Saints are concerned and this deal may appeal.
4 Hartigen or d/p 37 to Brisbane for Cameron Wood. With Scott and others on their way out at Brisbane, Hartigen may interest them, especially if we could persuade Wood, a tiger supporter, to tell Brisbane he is leaving come what may.IMO Hartigen is going to be very good but JON, Polo, Raines and White and possibly even Howat, have gone past him, not to mention Hyde and Newman. If Brisbane refuse Harts and then d/p 37, then maybe we could persuade Wood to nominate a large one year salary and enter the pre season? :hihi If so we snap him up having come to an understanding!!!
We get d/p 8,9,15,21 and 37 plus Wood and lose Gas, Kell or Krak, Knoble, Tivendale and possibly Hartigen. Easy really. ;D
