The other finals - 2014

Buddy has the "name" but gee Roughy has plenty of value. Can play kpf, kpd, ruck, ruck rove and do the all with aplomb.
I'd love him yellow & black. I'd go far to say I'd be prepared to trade any of ours for him.
Absolute champion player, seems a good citizen and team man as well.
He should have been a Tiger too. we were after him and Hawks rolled the dice thinking we'd take Franklin at pick four and leave Tambling for them at pick five.

However I differ on the good citizen point. From what I've heard he's an absolute arrogant knob to most supporters who approach him. But on field he's very good. The achilles didn't effect him at all.

Hawks just keep on unearthing new talent, now Stevic.
How did we miss him in the draft?

Loves the "controverisal call" at pivotal moments. Is AFL the only sport where the umpires think its about THEM??
If he had just let the game take its course then all would have been fine...but NO! By all means pay the obvious ones, but not a tiggy touchwood one with a min to go and 4 points the diff. WHY???????????????

Thank you! That's exactly why I wanted a swans v port grand final.

Most of my Hawthorn mates are desperate to go to GF again this year. I am glad we have a Victorian representative and would have them over Port and their feral supporters any day of the week.

Yeah, Hill was fantastic.

This is Hawthorn's 12th grand final since our last.

Shows what a great club can do. They transformed from a lowly/wooden spooner through their first 40 years, to playing in 16 GFs and winning 11 (maybe 12) flags in the next 50 years.

What is he worth right now on the open market. Almost as much as Franklin. Absolute champion.

My choice would be Roughy...eeeeeasily. Franklin's just a freak and that's it.

Yeah, I think we advertised the fact that we were going to take Roughy at pick 4. Bit I'm sure they were happy to have both big blokes after we said we wouldn't take Franklin. Hawks took Roughy and gambled we'd pass on Bud. I remember when we got Tambling there were a lot of draft watchers who claimed we pulled off a coup and got the 2 best players in the draft.
It goes to show that appearances aren't everything then. I'd always thought he came across as a good bloke. Maybe he saves that for his peers and not the average supporter. Disappointed to hear that.

Yep maybe that's what Hawks wanted us to think. Roughhead could only have been a Tiger if we picked him at #1.

Watched a very wet WAFL grand final between Subiaco & East Perth Eagles (East Perth is Eagles WAFL side). Subiaco upset the Eagles to everyones delight. Running around for Eagles was Jarrod Oakley Nicholls who was a Tigers 2005 dud draft pick. Jarrod's form today suggests he maybe delisted from Eagles list next year.

Draft order is *smile*. Whoever they got was gonna be a gun. Whoever we got was gonna struggle.

Development. Infrastructure. Development.

We've been hopeless.

But things are on the up.

You have to admire the Hawks.

If the win this on Saturday it's the greatest title defence in the history of AFL. No team has been through more in one year. I'm with them all the way on Saturday.

And Port, what a job to turn them around. Yesterday was one of the best games I've watched. At the ground, in the final five minutes Port were lining up off the back of the square with wingers and half forwards to clear space and provide overlap. And every bloke took off like a shot from a gun. Everyone one of them wanted the ball.

Hird and Little suing everyone.
Wheres Kochie against Stevic?

Putting our game into contempt!

Well he was a tiger until ole Dermie had a coffee with him.

:hihi

Well, my Tiger perspective shows that I'm racist when it comes to supporting teams. I always 'Stick with the Vic' and don't want foreigners to win the flag. ;D

Port wore the big V. :D

Agree and agree. Hawks had injuries throughout the season that would cripple other teams but they had the answers. Port a wonderful effort. Was a ripper final. I hope the granny lives up to that standard.

Hawks like to cut it fine in the prelims. Only 16 points total in it for the last 4 years. Under a goal a game.

2011- Loss 3 points
2012- Win 5 points
2013- Win 5 points
2014- Win 3 points

Go Hawkers...done it the hard way rather than being spoon fed.

You just think Sydney have way too much going for them - solid key backs, speed running backs with laser boots, grunty onballers, devastating outside users, and that forward line.

Sydney are just monstrous.

They'll win by 39 points.

I hope Hawthorn supporters realise how lucky they are to follow that club.

An amazing run of success, stretching back to the 1961 premiership.

Something Richmond supporters (and supporters of many clubs) can only dream of.

Geelong gets lauded for their consistency since 2007, well Hawthorn are every bit as good.

Don't forget the Swannies have had an extra day off as well after a fairly soft game. The Hawks had a bruising game and would have to be a bit sore and tired. Adding all of that up it seems to me the Swans will win.

Send the Tiges his 2014 highlights reel, might be enough evidence to recruit him again.

Watched both games again and on that showing Swans have got to be favourites for the flag. I know North forgot to turn up and that enabled the Swans use it as a practise match but they were so clinical. Hawks by comparison laboured admittedly against class opposition.

Stevic gets to umpire his beloved Hawks in the granny. :hihi
Just watching the last quarter of 2012 granny and Hawks have a ten free lead with Stevic in control.

He has a chance to rectify the Hawk 2012 loss on Saturday.
