The passion of the average Tiger fan is amazing

Given most currents supporters survived the 1983 to 1995 period I don't know how any President could believe they needed to implement a 'win now' philosophy to keep the supporters around.

Good point.

Think about it for all those who want us to go out and win meaningless games for membership purposes.

Yep, I was thinking about this too over the weekend. After another horror night Friday, I realised if you missed the North Melbourne game then, you can't have seen a tiger win in Melbourne at all this year. And yet, we keep talking, watching, attending and of course hoping. All we have left is passion for the club and some small amount of hope for the future.

Funny you mention that.

I was on an overseas conference that weekend.

Great conference, but I'm starting to think the Tigers can only win if I am at least 2000 kms away.

Anyone care to start a fund to send me overseas for the entire 2010 footy season?

We have made the finals twice in 26 years. We picked Richard Lounder and Anthony Banik no.1 in the draft, we had Michael Laffy kick-out from fullback in a rehersal for his future career as the mole, we may have violated the salary cap to retain Ben Holland, and have finished 9th twice as often as any other club since the final 8 was introduced.

We are second in attendance and on track for a $1 million profit in the midst of another season from hell.

We are proud, passionate and probably emotionally unwell.

I love Richo, and hope to one day love the Chimp nearly as much.

Yours, Ty

These last few weeks, all the media hype and never-ending interest in what is happening at Punt Rd, plus the whole Cousins recruitment process tells me 1 thing......when we get our crap in order, we will be the BIGGEST & most successful club of all. And it will be the fans who make it happen.

I don't worry about the ability of Richmond supporters to support our team in adversity, people that dare to call us bandwagoners when we start turning this around will never understand the ignominy of their words.
