It wouldn't surprise me at all if Deledio turned out to be a quicker James Hird, he has the same freakish marking ability, is more of a utility than a true midfielder, can pinch hit forward with a couple of goals and is capable of the freakish. The composure and the ability to take a game by the scruff of the neck will come in the next few years.

give me hird anyday.

heres a hypathetical, if you could take one player from the other 15 clubs to add to our list who would they be?

Okay, I'll give this one a go. I'm only looking at players 24 and under in line with our youth policy (no point them retiring before our 2011 window opens ;) ).

Adelaide: Ben Rutten, 23, would cover obvious deficiencies in defence.

Bribane: Jed Adcock, 21, poise, composure, and skill off half back; or
Jamie Charman, 24, to cover ruck problems.

Carlton: Bryce Gibbs, 18, the little I've seen of him this year has shown skill, maturity and composure beyond his years.

Collingwood: Heath Shaw, 21, for drive from half back. Racks up possessions and would add much needed skill.

Essendon: Paddy Ryder, 19, key back or ruck. Both major deficiencies of our list.

Fremantle: Aaron Sandilands, 24, Monster ruck who knows how to use it, would make a huge difference to us.

Geelong: Jimmy Bartel, 23, having a massive influence as an inside midfielder, something we desperately need.

Hawthorn: Luke Hodge, 22, inside mid, skill from half back/half forward, pure class.

Kangaroos: Hamish McIntosh, 22, huge ruckman having a ripper year; or
Brad Moran, 20, purely because his name's the same as mine ;D

Melbourne: Brock McLean, 21, inside mid who'd be exceptionally useful at the stoppages, injuries something of a concern at present.

Port Adelaide: Shaun Burgoyne, 24, inside mid with great skill who can get a heap of it; really puts in when he doesn't have the ball.

St.Kilda: Riewoldt, 24, or dal Santo, 23. Both class acts.

Sydney: ??? Maybe Jarrad McVeigh, 21, as a stopper. A bit hard to rate Sydney's younger players when they have such an experienced list.

West Coast: Chris Judd, 23. Obvious, first picked in any side in the comp.

Doggies: Daniel Cross, 24, gets a ton of it in both contested and uncontested situations, uses it well and works hard when not in possession.

That's my list, possibly not all the obvious choice from each team, but I reckon they'd all fit in nicely at punt road. Problem is who we'd get rid of. Maybe someone else could help out with that list ;)
