The pray St Kilda pick up Steven King thread.

WTF are the Saints thinking? They have picked up so many recycled hacks in the last few years.

Fiona, Birss, Gardiner, Clarke, Dempster, Schneider, King, Gardiner, Watts

LMAO how people rate Schneider but see fit to bag Petts who is twice the player Schneider is.

When you put it like that it does have a distinct wiff of Richmond post 2001 about it.

At least they been keeping their early picks,I suppose.

king, dempster, charlie gardinar...what the!

If RFC done this our supporters would have dropped more manure down at the club.

RFC have at least picked up 2 classy players in morton and Mcmahon.

schulz we scream about having talls, if we got a pic 16 then yes take it and pic up a young KPP but pic 28 is still a risk, at 22 yrs old and with a strong body who knows he might turn it around. Well im hoping!

Its now up to you Jay, work hard and have the desire to succeed.

Amen brother.

Great avatar ToO, future recruit i suspect

I have 2 mates who regularly work out, one of them was as skinny as a runt when he was younger and after 2 yrs put on 10 kgs due to eating 6 or 7 small meals a day and training full on . He built up so much size pretty built nowadays.

He said doesn't matter how skinny u are when ur young u have to eat right and a "lot" and keep pushing urself in the gym. Have the right amount of sleep after a hard days gym training and ur body will grow. Who is our body conditioning coach?

Are these SEN guys off the planet, St.Kilda done the best they think cause they didnt give up much they did well,

Dempster, king and Gardinar useless, King will demand 300K plus, he is finsihed.

As you put it the main difference between St Kilda and Richmond in 2001 is that the Saints gave up nothing to get those players. Back in 99 to 2001, we gave up plenty to Biddiscombe, Sziller, Houlihan etc etc

As for the saints, Pick 90 would not have been used. So basically they have acquired 3 premiership players and Gardiner for pick 26. I reckon they have done well.

Conversely I have reservations about our trades. McMahon has had plenty of time at the Bulldogs and he wasn't in there future plans while West Coast didn't seem too diappointed about giving up Morton.

As for King being finished, time will tell. He strung together quite a number of games in the VFL in the 2nd half of the season and played well in the Grand Final. In my view, he would certainly from our point of view been worth pick 90.

THe bottom line is that it adds to their depth. You can't have a team of 22 stars. Each player needs to play their part and contribute - something that has often been lacking at Richmond.

King, Schneider and Dempster can all contribute to the saints depth and yet the Saints gave up less than what we did to get McMahon.

King and Gardiner for pick 90 is pretty good value, if they are no good they can be shipped off after 1 year and cost them nothing in a supposdly weak draft. Dempster is depth and they have a few like him.

U know what MK, had we picked up those 3 we would have had 200 pages on this with absolute disapproval...seriously they will do nothing for the saints and i tell you now mitch morton is a fine young player who the eagles put a contract to him but he declined.
Now thats a good get at pic 35...i can undestand everyone going on more so about pic 19 as we should've kept it and in turn picked 2 KPP's with pics18/19 in the ND i agree but just on mcmahon he can play and give us real run out of the backline, like to see newman now go into the middle...

King and Gardiner for pick 90? What a steal, that's virtually for free! People saying they don't want King? Why not? With rucks stocks of Simmonds/Graham and Patto King would have been invaluable.

King is far superior to Knobel, I'm sure you realise this AT.

dempster king gaidner and schnieder. 1 ruckman 2 kpp 1 mid for practically nothing. sheesh a club called richmond was sreaming out for just those types.at least we would have been trying something different. oh well i suppose the long term underachieving duds can all take a big sigh and move with confidence back into their comfort zone.

yes in his prime but he aint in his prime anymore turing 29 and very injury prone.

i reckon King's game in the VFL granny was over rated. Ronaldson easy had the best of it for the first half.

Lyon must think St.Kilda are in position for a serious flag tilt and only need top-ups. Frawleyesque.

Had a good one in the AFL Grand Final
Not saying we should have got them but in effect they got 4 players for pick 26 in the draft and apparently a shallow draft at that. The Saints have only Gardiner as a ruck if King is fir for 2 years he can play first ruck they can draft a young ruck, play Kossie up forward and perhaps in 12mths time they will be searching for another ruck in trade time they will give more service. Gardiner has apparently had a very good season in VFL and will get his chance next year. If either fails next year they can P!ss them off and they would not have lost anything re trade picks or players.

I reckon it was another form of free agency for King and gardiner. Geelong said we don't need you, where would you like to go or do you want to go in the PSD. They said please send us to the saints.

Balme basically said this on the radio. Said they wanted to do the right thing by the players and get them to their preferred club.
