The real injustice at RFC.

if another big man goes down and/or one who is out injured does not come up then I think there is a chance they will promote both. One for Cogs and one for Peterson who will not play until mid year.

Meh.

I vote the Klingon.

Evo,

How do you rate Cling-on?

What type is he? How do his overall smarts and disposal compare?
I'm probably not the right person to ask, from the little I've seen of him his disposal seems fine.CC or maybe Red might be able to give you a better answer than I could.Apparantly he was pretty good in the lead up practise match prior to the Melb/Richmond one.

My post is more of a reflection of how I rate Howat.

If Clingon stays on the rookie list,I wont mind. He's still very young.

I don't see much point in promoting Angus. He's not ready for AFL (imo of course)Maybe they all should stay on the rookie list.

Hmmm.

Get the felling Evo that you think Howatt is as good as as he is going to get and we may be able to get the same thing that Howatt provides from someone already on our list, say a Connors or Casserly?

Definately.

I get the feeling reading between the lines from TW's interview on the RFC website that 2 players will be promoted by RD 1 and my guess those 2 will be Howat and King....with Gus a distant possibility ahead of King....

I read it the other way Astute - Howatt and Graham to be promoted

However it turns out I think U2 will be happy! ;)

I too thought that Cam was very unlucky not to be promoted last year. He's seems hungry enough though and should be able to make it in the long run.

I interpreted Plough's comments as meaning that Cam and Gus will be promoted. Gus may have a long way to go, but he is insurance in case we lose a couple of big guys.

He didn't against Geelong, but he wasn't on his own there.
I tend to agree with evo on this one. Although I would imagine Howat will be promoted first and then it will be out of King and Graham.
We have more of King's type than Graham's so... but in all honesty Gus isn't ready to ruck in the seniors just yet.

WT, howat yes and the only reason i said King was wallace could be looking for a small tagger in the back pocket who can also give us some run, yeah i think White could play that role too but i think TW has been happy with King throughout the preseason and also his performance on Davey.

Raines as CC tiger has put it is a weapon and i agree and id rather have him dashing out of the backline from HB or the middle than deep in the pocket.

If Howat doesn't get promoted then he should have been delisted at the end of last year. He couldn't possibly have done anymore.

I reckon it is dumb for Wallace to say the game against Collingwood is critical as to who is promoted. What happens if Howat doesn't get a kick after being almost our best pre season player - will he not get promoted.

If the claim is, is that we have too many of his type then I reiterate that he should have been delisted last year.

JB, I actually agree with you there seems to be a bit of cat and mouse here, looks like TW is foxing....Howat will be promoted no matter what and that’s what makes this all strange, all these games if we can call it that....as i mentioned today i believe there will be 2 promotions to the senior list one being Howat and the other i think King but who knows perhaps Gus could get the nod over king.

Evo, do you really rate the Klingon higher than Howat at this stage?
No not at this stage, but he has more upside.

House is ok but Richmonds recent history is littered with guys at his age who were 'ok'.

I'd rather aim a little higher, even if it fails.
Me too.
But not to promote the golden boy would be a sin in many peoples eyes.
But why do we need to promote him i could pick a 22 without him and so could Terry.

then you would be picking a 22, not as good as it could be.

hes earnt and showed his best 22 status.

I defies belief if hes best 22, let alone fringe 22 why you wouldn't promote him to have the option to play him.
