The RFC must ask Channel 10 for an apology.

Phantom, I think from memory the clip came up before the start of the match (but I could be wrong... on the empty side of a bottle of red by that stage) and I don't recall who introduced it.

I'm not offended but I think it was a silly thing to do. I turned the telly off on Saturday night thinking - he aint that bright, but I'm glad we've got him!

And for an offensive gesture that has so outraged the media - it's sure getting a lot of print and air time!

I personally couldn't care less that Cuz gave the camera an 'up yours' and care even less that Ten chose to show it.

Of course they did, they are a commercial network but who really cares about it??

Geez society is precious. It's such a beat up.

Well said Oldie. It is a ridiculous suggestion to suggest they shouldn't have shown it. Regardless of what you think, they were always going to show it, we all know that they have no interest in anything but their own ratings and what better way to boost the rating than a bit of controversy involving the Tigers or Ben Cousins.

What should happen now if Adolph has any balls is to say, "Right, Channel 10 have breached the rules of fair play, no more filming in the changing rooms, till the after game club song. Thats it, you over stepped the mark, your out.

Otherwise they are bascially condoning what the media are doing. Its all bloody Terry Wallaces fault for letting them in the dressing rooms all those years ago when he was at the dogs.... ;D

If the media are never called to account they will continue to push the boundaries of what they show.

Funny how the AFL won't let them replay reportable incidents or streakers etc, but they can replay this trash vision 1000 times over.

Now that the penalties have been handed out, I can assume that Channel 10 will monitor all change room vision for several hours before each game, and broadcast any act they deem questionable? Yeah right.

It appears there are cracks starting to appear in the media's uniform acclaim that they were right to show the footage with greg baum breaking ramks and giving ch 10 a fair whack in the age today.Just interested what the response has been in melb from the public as over in the west public opinion is running at about 99% in cuz' favour

Have thought for a while that the AFL should run its own production company and sell the TV product to the networks. TV is a funny thing in sport, its it he primary product and the promotion. By running its own production company the AFL would have control of its own product and be able to better manage the promotion. Basically it could sack stupid journo's/commentators, producers that bring to air stupid things that players do that were never meant to go to air and for the most part we just aren't interested in.

Anyone know if it has been looked at seriously?

Channel 10 cameras at the Melbourne C***d game pick up a security guard having a quick shuteye during the 3rd quarter.

No fine but could cost the poor bloke his job.

That sounds a little too much like state sponsored TV to me ... I'd much rather leave it in the hands of the incompetent than the hands of the corrupt.

Agree.

Media in the hands of the governing body smacks too much of a Totalitarian regime for me.

When that happens, there'll be no-one left to criticise the AFL.

Its a fixed camera, that Ben saw and made the (ill) considered choice to do what he did. I'd have a lot of sympathy if hidden cameras were used to gain the footage, but they weren't. For someone whose life has been cruelly subjected to media intrusion, he should have known better.

To blame Ten is silly. Ben made a poor choice.

Admittedly the media totally overplayed it subsequently but Ten is completely entitled to show the footage.
