In the bright shadows cast by the recent Polak tragedy I have seen our great club attempt to deal with an emotive situation.

I have seen negative posters, flower sniffers (), club officials, players (even scapegoats) and more act admirably working together to help everyone deal with a difficult situation. We receive constant updates on Graham's remarkably fast recovery, we hear how Greg Miller did everything he could for Graham's family from the moment they set foot off the plane, we see his mates coming by to show their support, we have over 500 messages left on the club website within mere hours of setting up a service for everyone to send Graham their best wishes, we even have a group of supporters on Big Footy - infamous for it's low IQ and underclass tone - banding together for the difficult task over the internet of organising 30-40 supporters all sending in money for a custom made #6 guernsey with hand written messages printed all over it.

If we can help each other out, if we can come out of this stronger than before; then we are on display as a club with fantastic character and quality behind the scenes.

We are the Richmond Family :clap

great post benny furs....I really hope the club bonds around this issue and is able to help graeme in his recovery,at the same time I hope this issue unites the club even more ,and we become "one fist " in all our endeavours.

Did you post the same thing on BF? "...we even have a group of supporters on PRE - infamous for its snobbishness and pretentious tone..." :P

Well said benny.

Well said benny.

There are several good posters on BF, however I don't post there anymore.

If I had to describe PRE I think I would best do it by posting a link to Tiger TV highlights ;)

very well said Benny and yes - you are dead set corrct - we are the Richmond Family and should be proud to be a part of that!! I know I am.

To be someone that didn't follow footy until the end of 2000, I have grown to be more fanatical than the person that introduced me to us.

Richmond isn't just a club it is a way of life.

Once a tiger, always a tiger. :D

as is your role as the crotchety old grumpy uncle in the family.

Dear clowns,
A young man in the prime of his life is laying in a hospital fighting for his life. It's unclear if he will ever function as a normal adult again, let alone play. You idiots think it's nice to be part of a family because of this accident and the reaction of the fans and general public. Don't have to go to Big Footy to find a low IQ.

Calm down Toyko drift. I dont understand your post.

Nothing wrong with supporters talking about a family feeling around the club.

Everyone on here is thinking best wishes for him, and have been hoping for his full recovering.

ease up japo. our thoughts and perceptions come from our own angle because of many things, many experiences................
we are all feeling here. let us choose the way we feel without critisism please.
cheers mate

Glad you're at home and don't have to go anywhere. Just look in the mirror.

feeling unloved?

I always thought we were more like the Griswold or Manson families... :hihi

However to see how the club as a whole has reacted to this tragedy, from the staff down to the supporters is very heartwarming....but really, I wouldn't have expected anything different in such a time.

This is the point i was trying to make. Is the response not natural? No need to post the obvious. How else did you think the club would respond?
