Apart from the obvious puns you can make about the thread title .....

..There is no way to get around 5 losses to open the season... BUT: we have been in positions to win the game in all of them: on terms or a serious challenge in the final term of all games: we have played the 2 GFs, and a likely top 4 finisher: No blowouts, no head dropping...
.. the team is slowly growing together; evolving : we will click and BAM!! Holy winning streak Batman!

Mark my words, while no one respects us now.. we will be the danger team from here on: we will be every teams worry game, the one they 'should' win but somehow they start shitting themselves about; the one they cant afford to lose but do..... the parallels to Essendon 1980-1 are stark.

I dont know if we will play finals; but we will win plenty of games from here. The season starts now.

I think somewhere between your comments and Phantoms (0-22 for god's sake) is correct. I don't expect some miraculous season saving winning streak but by the same token the other end of the stick ain't gonna happen either.

Sorry, Harro, I didnt mean a 'miracle season saving wining streak'... I just meant a few wins on the board, and possibly more wins than losses: I think the team can grow into somehting substantial over this season and pyscologically we can 'start over' from this point forward

You seem to ignore the fact that our losing streak of five have all been at home where you would have thought we would have won at least one match. Instead we have beaten comfortably in the end in all five (including by last years wooden spooner). If the season truly 'starts now' it's going to be a very tough season indeed with a hell of a lot more travelling than we have experienced up to this point . Again it's remarkable how excited some people have gotten over a four goal loss.

Why do you suppose Ive 'ignored' the fact that they were home games? Do you think I dont know the draw? I stand by my comments.
I would also disagree with notion of being 'comfortably beaten in all five'. I dont think that is the case. If an opposition is in a dangerous position well into the final quarter then its not all that 'comfortable' is it?
