Usually I am (like many many here) very optimistic. But tonight's game suggests to me that nothing has indeeed changed...

I actually think that the endeavour and commmitment is there - but as is often pointed out - our inability to hit a target always costs us big time.

It is only February, but these factors unfortunately cannot be rectified by determination or desire alone....

...very concerned...

I thought i was watching a relpay of an old game and had to check to make shure that the vcr was not playing.

GROUNDHOG DAY

And yet you picked them to win by 5 goals. Keeping up the strike rate I see ;D

BTW good game by Kel Moore I thought.
Moore's not up to it,I thought we could beat a 2nd string StKilda side but I didn't realise how bad we were.

Disappointing and shoddy performance, but I'm not about to get too upset over one of these pre-season matches. Round 1 will be a different story however.

Normally I'd agree, but they actually looked like they'd gone backwards from round 22 2007 performance. Very disappointing >:(

Are you serious Monty B, I went tonight and we were really truly woeful - never got our game going, but Moore did some very good things on Kozzie pushed forward and generally used the ball well.

Team was however pretty disjointed running some newbies through half back. Our real problem is the same old story a midfield that hesitates, picks the wrong options and misses targets. The main cuplrits are Johnson, Tuck and Tivendale.

Kingy was great but Moore easily in best 6 I would have thought. I think he has improved a bit. can onky get better I reckon.

Have to agree with all you posted here but have to add that Johnson was so slow in body and mind , he cant improve, i dont think he can play any other way, he needs to resign and let Brownie or Richo captain the team until Newman or lids is ready to take over. I feel myself being drawn to the darkside already, there was nothing new and JON needs to give back his guernsey and head back to W A to play in the wafl were he will be happier and the Richmond supporters will be too

I can't say I expected anything different. I posted in another thread that you can't disagree with someone when they bag Richmond, because it's all true and someone criticised me for it. Watch that game tonight and say honestly that Richmond weren't woeful. There are just too many players who aren't up to it. I fear it's going to be this way for a long time, no matter what happens at the helm. Please someone, anyone get rid of Johnson at captain, it's soul destroying. Newman was the on field leader tonight. 2008 will be worse than 2007, but then again I knew that before tonight.

Trying SO hard to think like this tonight. It's hard, but I am trying!

The saddest thing about tonight though was Jack's mark in the goal square being taken off him. That's a mark every year of my life until last year. Looks like footy's still buggered.

Technically he did the Capper hands-on-shoulders manouevre. Chin up, the players have done all the groundwork and have 5 weeks to get the gameplan clicking.
