Went to the game last nite and walked away disillusioned, ill get on the front foot and say sure it’s only the NAB cup and time to get it right.

Id have to say there were parts of the game where we actually looked sharp but then just as quick we looked like the same old same old.

Now i am a terry wallace fan but its time to cut the cord with some guys and he is not doing himself any favours by continually playing these blokes, if guys like hyde, tivvas, i would add captain Kane in this group too continue to get games it will be the same old same old. Johno as the Captain he will need to be in the 22 and that’s the only reason, a definite bench starter, he was literally useless last nite, to damn slow.

JON - I backed him and said he needs this year to show he is worth preserving with but gee he does look a worry, why take a bounce after taking 5 steps and being pinned. Then kicking across the ground where the kick went to the opposition.

Sylvester, ok a rookie and still too early but way to slow for my liking.

Raines i do like his ferocity and hardness but his skills are diabolical.

We were murdered in the middle last nite and with cogs and polo to return that'll help. Edwards and Connors (i know there injured, short term) have to be in that side in place of guys tivva, hyde and johnson (who survives due to being the captain) and i dont want to add raines in this group but will "only" due to his decision making and skill errors.

TW did the same with Gaspar time to do the same with the above mentioned players and fast track the development of some of the younger guys.

Polak had a very good year last year but looked out of sorts in the fwd line, id still perhaps persevere with him there, the few times he played up fwd last year he did well all those games were at the G.

To early to tell DHN, im still thinking our season wont be as bad as last nite suggests but on the flip side who *smile* knows, how many times do we have to butcher the ball, as a TW fan he did say when he came if you cant hit a target u wont survive, Mmm cant see that ive seen the chop from the same old serial offenders.

I hope to be corrected Astute however I cant see where the improvement will come from if the present mentality prevails. I was thinking that perhaps the leadership was lacking on field but it seems that it is also off field and in the box. If Wallace said that about not hitting targets and players getting chopped and hasnt then he has lost his credibility as a coach and leader.

I just dont think anyone at our club has the balls or courage to make the tough calls and do what is required.

Yep he said that when he was appointed cause from his time in the media he commented many times on richmonds skills and errors.
I agree im not to sure if thay have the back bone to make the really hard calls, perhaps trading a player of some worth or making the cut on certain players who will not take us to the next level.

Must be absolutely awful as a coach who in his playing days was a fine player to see the sort of crap some of our players serve up and just sit there and try to be positive and not tell them exactly what you think about their playing standard.

I agree Astute - our side cannot survive with a Hyde/Tivendale/Johnson centre rotation. Just too slow to be competitive with any other side in the league. The number of times you saw these three guys holding the football, upended and lying on their back with his opposite number appealing to the ump for a free for the pin....
