We should really have no excuses if we lose tomoro night. Full strength besides Ottens, Chaffey, and Holland. The pies are missing alot more. Danny has been talking up rd 1 for a while - lets hope the team doesnt dissapoint.

So far we've started the season in the same tradition we had all last year.
The AFL website said teams would be on @ 7.
Collingwood were on at 6.45 and we were on at 7.30.
Hope we're quicker out of the blocks tomorrow night. ;D

Not a lot of surprises with the team really. Good to see Rodan named as rover. It's good to show some faith in him and let him learn the trade.
Go Tiges.

I like it with the exception of Houlihoop >:(

Why oh why is the question.

Glad to see Ty Zantuck picked adds a bit of those "tough nut" qualities. ;)

Would have thrown Schulz in the deep end.

As long as he plays like he did in the praccy match, Carlton. I'd have close to being in the best players that day.
Time for him to put in or his time will be up.
It's handy he can play forward or back too, and could be called on to do a Torney like role if a nippy little forward is getting on top of us.

I'm with you Koalalill with your comment on *smile*. Probably a bit early yet for as big guys take a bit longer to find their feet compared to a small guy like Rodan who played 22 games in his debut year.

Actually feeling confident with this game and I am picking the Tiges. If we can't beat the Pies without Burns, Cloke, Presti, Fraser & Licuria then we are in for a long year although I would have like Chaff to be there too.

I thought Billy Nichols may have got a run; is he injured?

hmmmmmmmmmmmm 4-5 players who would be classed as underdone not a good thing as far as im concerned.coming up against a side who is full of running and match hardened.
i would have gone with *smile* as well.he,s young and full of running at this time of the year.

A couple of furious observations.

* Fiora named on the bench behind King, Rogers and Houlihoop. Not a good start to a make or break year for our pick No. 3

* 4 underdone players selected. Campbell, D Kellaway, Zantuck and Blumfield. Here's hoping we get a good lead early.

* On a brighter note, I like the look of our midfield. Its different if nothing else.

TF whats on paper on thursday night means jack s***.
id expect both fiora and newman to start on the ground.

My thoughts exactly JR. It has almost become pointless naming players in positions on a Thursday night these days.

Have we or any other team lined up in the positions selected. It is all about match up these days.

If *smile* was at another club he would of played.
Instead Frawley plays washed up garbage like Duncan and King. The pressure will be on spud the dud tonight from round 1, if they get flogged by a very undermanned collingwood. And he deserves it, because he continually gives clowns a game of AFL football who do not deserve to be there.

...washed up garbage like Duncan and King.. flogged by a very undermanned collingwood.
All this talk about Collingwood being undermanned amuses me, and to me is an excuse people are using as security in case (read as when) Collingwood lose.
Some people are running scared in case the Mighty Tigers roar.
They are missing a full back, we are missing a CHB.
Both teams are missing their no 1 ruckman.
Both have another couple of guys out. The difference in outs isn't as wide as people choose to believe.

When we win you'll have to change you avatar to an "Onya Spud" one and have a pic of Dunc under your name for the rest of the season Diggles.
Actually I volunteer to add it for you if you like, ha. ;D

Not real worried about the underdone players in Campbo and Blumfield. They have had 5 weeks of solid training on top of the modified schedules they had since November and played 2 games each. Would have been nice to have them play a game or two more, but they are both experienced footballers, and the lighter load coming into the season may work in their favour.

Would have thought that Nicholls would have got a run in that 18 or least be named as an emergency. Speaking of which, if Danny plays Mills in the ones I will crack it.

Go tiges....by 18 points..

Exactly rosy. Everyone is going on about Collingwood having 5 players out but forget that we have the same....Otto, Holland, Chaffey, Dragga and Krakouer. There are no excuses for Collingwood getting done tonight which in the end they will. All their whinging is doing is displaying to the rest of the footy world that they are worried about their depth. I'm glad we are not making any excuses.

Car'n the Tigers! :D

Have a look at this team from round one last year-nearly half gone! it is a good start!

Doh..I didn't even read the team or the year. Just saw Collingwood and thought of this year. :-[
