Travel factor, what travel factor? :hihi :hihi

Took the words out of my mouth.

The best thing about the win the win for me was we attacked the ball, and there is planty of scope for improvement.  Forget not that it was our first run on the G too, so set shots should hopefully get better with each game there.

I loved the intensity, the speed, and continual improvement of players such as Raines, Tambling, Cogs' running, and Hartigan.  Also, Cleve did as well as could be expected.  nerves played a part in his kicking for goal for sure and I thought showed enough to make our mouths water.  Loved the fact his first stat was from a free kick for a tackle on the wing.  Great enthusiasm from the kid.  Watched him in the first quarter from the ponsford Stand and he looked star struck.  To train with richo is one thing, but to play along side him on friday night in that form will be a huge lesson for the kid.
Apart fom the skill errors (which IMO were mainly the missed shots for goal, which would have snuffed the Blues out), the things that stood out most to me were, like you say, our intensity. Also our skills around the ground were actually good at times and our style of play we were attempting was excellent. I am most pleased witht the fact that, even after our cruel draw to the start of the year and the travel factor, we look fit and were able to play all 4 quarters, something we have fallen down on over the years.

Unbelievable that someone even posted they didn't bother watching the second half. The skills were abyssmal without a doubt but the game was at a cracking pace with heaps of endevour and despite pulling my hair out I thoroughly enjoyed the entertaining spectacle.

I feel sorry for anyone who can't just enjoy a win on it's merits, especially against our old foe. Carlton.

I was at the game and damn proud to be there. The way we fought back to win, the running game, lots of mistakes but no-one dropped their heads.

Some people should not bother to support the tiges if they whinge and gripe about such a spirited win.

the only thing we can take out of the game was the 4 points. it was a shocker. we should have kicked 10 goals in the 2nd quarter

Nah mate - we can take out of it that we played aggressive and attacking football. We need to tighten up in defence and improve conversion. I was at the game and was really impressed with the endeavour and the positive approach.

We blitzed them in the centre and at clearances. We played direct with great drive from defence from Raines, Bowden and even Kellaway who had a good game. Cogs had a great game - Tuck was his usual tough and uncompromising self. Harts played the best I have seen him play in the seniors. Tivendale and Hyde were big contributors. Even Krakouer kicked goals when no-one else could hit the "side of the barn".

Richo played a blinder, goal kicking excepted - and still kicked three!

If the players who were down on form Friday night can pick up 10% we will blitz the bombers this week.

Those are the positives.

I think the fact that we have been able to do this reflects the increased professionalism around the club. Our players seem to be better developed physically than many other years. It reflects in Wallaces constant reference to the boys sailors legs when he first arrived.

Also noted that fiona has also put on a bit of bulk since he moved to the Aints as well.
