PUNT ROAD END | Richmond Tigers Forum

What I find really pathetic is people taking pot shots at TW and the kids.

FFS, he is turning the list over and it takes time to do this. You all wanted the kids to be played and when he plays them and we lose you want his head.

Another thing is the vitriol being shown to a few second and third year players. Someone was even calling for us to get rid of Andrew Collins who we only just drafted. JON didn't have a pre-season this year and because he's not playing like Peter Matera we should get rid of him too. Unbelievable. Danny Meyer is too skinny... let's get rid of him too! Why not get rid of everyone and we can all go and follow the Hawks seeing as though some people are so obsessed with them.

And as far as someone like Krak goes I think he should be delisted at years end but when a guy gets 38 possessions at Coburg then he almost demands selection in the ones. TW has to reward form and if you're on the list, you're on the list and if you put your hand up for selection then fair enough you get a game. Kingsley sucks and was a big mistake but he's played two lousy games. Big deal. We already have heaps of young kids so what does it really matter. He'll be gone at seasons end. TW stated he wanted to put pressure on guys like Cleve and Jay to really fight for their games. So he tried something and it went wrong, so let's go and crucify him for it.

As for some of his on-field match ups YES some of them seem a bit strange but when your season has gone down the toilet you may as well experiment a little bit and see what you've got. For example the continued education of Andrew Raines in the backline. Maybe he'll just end up becoming a more well-rounded player when he eventually moves into the midfield and JON comes in and takes his backline spot next year. Isn't it better to experiment and see what these guys are capable of?

OK we have had some other off-field issues but we've got FJ in charge of recruiting now, Fly McRae as development coach and facilities are supposed to be getting an upgrade so you'd hope that this would make a difference. At least steps are being taken to rectify our deficiencies. Maybe it could have happened earlier but it didn't. Let's just be thankful it's happening now yeah?

With several more duds assured of being culled at season's end and another new influx of kids the wheel will further turn at RFC. I expect 2008 to be an ordinary year too but then again the turnover will continue, more kids will be played and eventually the right mix will be found. This explains TW's comment of things looking like they're going backwards when they're really going forwards. I reckon he's spot on but half of you around here can't see it and want everything now.

Get rid of TW now and we'll have nothing but the same crap served up to us for another 25 years. Just support him and let's see what happens when his five years are up. That's about all for now.
