Have got to say, as a football supporter (with the exception of the eagles) this has got to be the worst time of year. You sit back and reflect on the year that's been now that it's all over. You see what the best in the competition has to offer, and you measure your team in comparison.

As a Tigers fan, I know we're well short of the mark.

What makes this time of year so bad, is the anxious feeling I get about what those in charge of the club, will do to the list. Will the move the right people. Will the bring the right kids in. Will the land a big fish with a trade, or will they land a dud and cause us to fall back again for another couple of years. This time of year is hope mixed with pessimism. Will we be better next year? Is it fools gold?

Anyone else going through the same thing? Or are you all just glad the seasons over and you can look forward to the ashes?

It's the worst time of the year because we are in that awkward spot where there's no footy and no cricket on the tv and the spring carnival hasn't started. What's a sporting tragic to do?!

and the big wigs thought that after the Com games we were going to go into depression, what would they know...

it is when the footy season is over that that happens....

We are well short of the premiership but we are also along way from the wooden spoon of 2004.
Success was never going to be instant.

There's no doubt we're heading in the right direction.

However how far that takes us is yet to be seen...

One word BATHURST

General,

from a supporters perspective I have to agree with you. We are now staring at the long hot summer of no footy. It's a drought alright!

I also suspect these are tough times for players. All of the rumours and trade talk must have some impact on them, especially if their own name is being tossed around.

"When does season 07 start?", asks the tiger tragic with a long face

I reckon the bloke who gets it worst through this time is the coach.

He has to call blokes in and tell them they're fired.

Having had to put staff through performance management before, and sacking people, it's a crap feeling. The difference is, those people were just there to earn a quid. For some young blokes, it's their dream. I'd hate to have to end a kids dream.

I love the trade period! I think it is exciting to see which players go where, and what new blood comes to our club. With no finals action for a while now this is the thing I look forward to the most after Round 22, which is very, very sad.

l agree skip when your team isnt competing in finals year after year as sad as it is to stay this is one of my favourite times of the year l just love all the speculation and rumours
