Beer friend me good...

Greetings again all...been reading all the posts with interest and occasionally amusement. I am coming to the conclusion based on nothing more than all the rumour and speculation amongst many of the boards here that RFC has already signed off numerous items and has deliberatley gone to ground during the finals campaign in order to maximise media interest and promotion at the right time. As I say, I base this theory on nothing more than other posts on the site...
alas I don't have a mate who's sister is the physio of the friend of Bill's dog walker in order to back this theory :-\
Thoughts?

Well, if nothing else, we know that the so-called leak has been plugged...sort of....maybe.....

Partly agree, I think we are holding off on one or two things, to announce them after the finals so they get more attention.

Other things I think are quite complicated (interview processes and possibly even sponsors, ala negotiating last minute terms and conditions for the club, salaries, etc)

I also think a lot of Football Department specific things are held up until we announce our new head.

I think it is all more of a case there is no hurry and the club are using the finals as a good smokescreen.

Only hardcore supporters or panic mongering media identidies really care about what we are up to right now with finals going on.

You got that right. I know a few Tiges followers who would respond 'CEO of what now?' if the subject were brought up.

Some element of validity around this. If you want to announce some big appointments including sponsors you want as much clean air as possible to maximise the amount of coverage in the media.

However, once the GF is over, the media takes a bit of rest for a week or so with only a few focusing on the trade shenanigans, so the exposure by default will be less than if it was announced in season.

That said, I would be announcing anything big next week so it can get covered on The Footy Show. For a new sponsor, you can't buy that sort of mass media exposure. Think back to when AFG got announced, they had Richo with the jumper with a AFG logo, a speel about the company and an interview with the CEO of the company.

Further to that if we had mulitple announcements to make I would stagger them as to get the media saying "gee's the Tigers are flying. One big win after another, they are on the way up"

Yeah, that was the other element to my theory that it would also seem the club has either identified and rectified the leak...or scared them into submission if found out!

I like the way you think. :clap
