There is a Cog missing

No doubt we are missing Coughlan badly

Him and Foley would make a good clearance duo.

With coughlan and foley there is no room for our skipper in the middle. Half Back or no where

That's piffle. People were still blaming Cogs' OP when the problem was his ankles which were operated on the minute our season ended. Mark is completely over his OP problems.

piffle haha

tell me then why he ALWAYS kicked on he's left boot even when clear on the right and why he struggled to kick it over 40m, luke ball was going through something similar a while ago

he has never recovered, maybe the knee injury has given him time to get the groin right but the knees are now a different story

I put a heap more faith in what Mark tells us than your personal opinion on his situation. :blah

yeh and browny "was only missing 2 weeks"

fair enough you trust the man himself if he told ya but i watched him play and can make up my own mind on it

yeh its called "mature inside midfielder" mate

we dont have any and thats why foley stands out like you know what and we miss cogs so badly

its our time to draft more of this type rather than hold our breath waiting for cogs

No, not mature, smart, they dont come around too often in drafts.

Even when Foley matures, he wont have that quality I'm talking about that Cogs has. After watching the replay of Friday, I can see Edwards draws a tackle here and there.

2004 - lewis
2005 - jones/hurn
2006 - selwood/armitage

they go early because they are important, if we dont pick up a guy similar to this we are officially a joke

also cogs was a 2nd round selection and foley was a rookie listed player, of course theres difference in quality but he is doing the job atm and thats all you can ask

Thats right, I dont think we can ask for more from Foley at all. He is doing great, but to find another player like Coughlan is important.

Yet, in my opinion we still have to give Coggy another go, as some one pointed out, Wojinski at Geelong is dong fine, if Coggy comes back the same way, it will be a bonus.

I wasnt trying to compare them head to head, just saying that we have 1/5 of the midfield missing.

No point comparing Cogs & Foley as they are completely different players, Cogs is a centreman, Foley a rover, Cogs gets the hard ball, Foley the clearances.
They should form the nucleus of our midfield in 2008 though, I can see them working brilliantly together.
