If ever there was a reason to delete the words "heroes", "celebrity" or
"role model" from the sports lexicon ....

A lot of these have been taken from other sports and attributed to AFL stars.

Still funny though...

Love em.

These sayings pass into folklore or myth or some such.

Agree, Jexy, the attributions are often falsified or mistaken. The apathy one was originally attributed to an American coach (can't remember who- still probably BS) and a lot of the others are variations on older jokes etc. Jack Dyer was credited with the pair up in threes one in the seventies- again it might have just been a wise crack on WOS or League Teams.

But the apathy one is my favourite.

I'd be interested to know if anybody can remember any of the quotes from particular situations. Got a feeling that Sheedy may have said that one about Hird getting up at six o'clock etc. Class comment.

According to a cursory search of the internet, the 6 o'clock in the morning quote was said by a boxing coach called Lou Duva.

And the "break the habit of a lifetime for that prat" by Terry Wallace was actually said by Rowan Atkinson.

Sorry guys, don't mean to be a killjoy. :)

Blood Oath has found a good one-

“It’s not rocket science but it’s good to have someone drilling it into you," Michael Braun, West Coast Eagles.

No. That wouldn't be rocket science.

Good to see you read my posts Jack! I think I remember someone saying the same thing to me once - but I can't remeber her name. All I remeber is she took something from me adn it cost me a fortune! ;D

i like the Shane Wakelin one.......The first time i read it i wasn't sure what was said wrong...LOL

Swartz must have a heap - I can't remember any - but there were some last night!

Bye the way Channel 7 commentary just does nothing for me.
I find Tim Watson one of the most boring commentatory I have ever had to listen to!

Beauty from CHris Judd.

On Channel nine news tonight in Perth they did a cross to Chris Judd.

They were asking him abut Ben Cousins addressing the player group this week.

They asked Chris was he emotional......

Answer " Well he has been in contact with a few players o it wasn't like he was completely cold turkey"!!!!

Jeez - i bet he wished he hadn't said that!
