Our team in 3 years time.
By the start of the 2008 season you can reasonably assume that the following players will no longer be with us because of their age.
Darren *smile*
Greg Stafford
Matthew Richardson
Andrew Kellaway
Wayne Campbell
Mark Graham
In addition
Kane Johnson
Nathan Brown
Joel Bowden
will all be 30.
List mangement is a key to success, so lets hope this years batch are good enough to fill the void and then some. The way I see it if we don't get some talls through the door, and goods ones fast, we a screwed in the key position department.
Full Back.
Darren *smile* is the only bloke that can realistically play full back, and now he has huge qustionmarks on him with regard to his knee. Kelvin Moore and Will Thursfield, are a long way away from being ready, heres hoping they improve enough to make the grade, but at this stage it would be an outside chance of happening.
Centre Half Back
Strangely, even though he is the most undersized of our key position players, he is the most accomplished and reliable. plays the chad cornes role to a tea, but needs big bodies next to him for support. Should handle the role well for the next three years.
Centre Half Forward
?????? Richo is the only option, and at 30 his time must be running out. Big hopes for Mcguane, Pattison may be better suited to ruck, but if Mcguane continues to develop we may break even in this position in the future.
Full Forward
??????? No one proven in this position as Richo looks likely to be moved up field. I reckon Shultz can play this role, he is big and strong and a very reliable kick. I hope that plough reconsiders his quest of making him a CHB. Even so however, Shultz is very unproven at senior level. Lets hope Limbach is good enough.
I guess one of the trade offs of going best available in the draft last year was the fact that we are now light on in key position, heres hoping the few talls we have, will develop to be good enough to make it!
cheers Blaisee
