Special thoughts today for one of our greatest Tigers ever on what would have been his 94th birthday.  Rather than saying the mould was broken I prefer to think the mould is being worked on and Jack's spirit will shine through in our team in the not too distant future.

For those who haven't seen it there is a tribute section to Jack on the main page of the site.  Growl has also posted several articles on the Blast From the Past board of PRE.

If only our club had a little of the captain blood spirit we may see some real mongrel around the place.

Yeah Mopsy I agree. It is a great pic of Cap'n Blood, I wonder if RFC would do a special replica edition this year?
Great to have one

Too right, Mopsy.

And that badge was bought at his last game. We played Geelong in the last round of 1949 AND beat 'em!

Think it was by about 11 goals. The old fella kicked 6 that day.

Geez we could do with a forward like that - give the defenders a bit of a tickle and kick goals.

Still remember a interview with someone who worked with him on TV who enjoyed telling this story about Jack...

One day Jack turned around and said to him he never watched TV for years and absolutely hated the idiot box! When his co-host asked him why he replied with a straight face.

"Bloody black and white tellies, remind me too much of Collingwood. Didn't watch TV till they brought in colour TV's."

*Sighs* What a great, great man. Miss him terribly!
